What is RotaKids?RotaKids is a new program for grades 1 – 4 being held at the Paramus Public Library. This is a monthly program at the Main Library and a quarterly program at the Reid Branch Library. This program is activity-based where students will be crafting or building a part of a community project. In November 2019 students decorated boxes to collect child friendly food for our local food pantry. These boxes were placed in local businesses. Upcoming RotaKid programs include making cards for Veterans.
This program is in partnership with the Paramus Rotary Club and its purpose, in a fun and friendly environment, encourage today’s children to become tommorrow’s volunteers. For more information about upcoming Rota Kids programs, see page 3 for the Main Library and page 5 for Reid Branch Library.
AUTO RENEW!Starting February 14, 2020 all BCCLS libraries are offering a new service called Auto Renew.WHAT IS IT?Your library material will be automatically renewed for you.
HOW DOES IT WORK?Three days before the due date an email will be sent to advise you that your item(s) has been renewed. The renewal is effective from the original due date so there is no reduction in the loan period. If an item is not eligible for renewal (maybe there is a reserve on it or the renewal limit has been reached) the email will advise that as well.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? Make sure there is a valid email attached to your library account. If you don't have one, now is the time to add one.
Extended Borrowing TimeThe Paramus Public Library has extended borrowing times (or loan periods) for certain materials. These changes are effective immediately.
7 day DVDs are now 14 days.
7 day blu-rays are now 14 days.
Books on CD are now 28 days.
7 day video games are now 14 days.
New video games will remain 7 days.
Learn-a-language CDs are now 28 days.
Children’s read-a-longs are now 28 days.
Renewal limits for the above categories of items will now be 2.
