Experimental Results Conducted experiments to determine the sensitivity of

focus across a slide with 100X oil lens

Used parallel slices of rat femur and uneven human TB-free sputum samples to quantify

Attempted to move as many millimeters as possible until the sample was out of focus

On average, human samples had to be re-focused every millimeter
