Intra-pore fluids

Natural gamma spectroscopy (NGS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) relaxometry

are bulk sensitive techniques that do not require time consuming sample preparation.

Adequate sample size and automation offer unique opportunity to use these techniques to

support drilling process based on drill cuttings measurements. Measurement targets for NGS

NMR combo on cuttings are mineralogy / lithology, total organic content (TOC) , concentration

of residual fluid.

NMR NODE

NMR node is designed to

provide reliable measurements

in presence of electromagnetic

noise and other attributes of

well-site environment. In order

to enable high throughput and

adequate data quality the NMR

data acquisition is accompanied

by automatically run frequency

tuning (to account for

temperature variation), adaptive

data stacking as well as gain

and background measurement.

Segments

• Tight silt mapping in vertical wells in Permian basin

• Pore pressure prediction application for deep offshore wells in

GoM

• Geo-steering of shallow wells (drill bit OD < 4” and / or use of coil

tubing )

• Geo-steering in complex carbonate reservoirs in Middle East

Value

• Cost savings: Lower cost alternatives to existing data acquisition

(e.g. LWD, WL)

• Value of information: Lower the “cost of entry” for obtaining

quantitative subsurface data that can reduce subsurface

uncertainty
