I am direc ted to refer to CBDT decision in tile of even number dated 26.04.2017 on the above subjectuud tu commun icute the Io l lo v, in g: -

ITO /IT! Examination ZO 17(,I) !'hl' Dcpanmenta l Examinations 201 7 for the Il Os and ITls shall be held in accorda nce with the

Amended Departmental Examination Rules 2009 for ITOs and ITls respecti vely.

(h) Syllubus would be the same as was applicable for 20 16 Examinat ion.

As regards eligibilitv. the 20 17 Examination for ITOs/ITls shall be held on the basis of the el igibility

criteria as circulated vide Directorate ' s Instruct ion F.No. EG(20)( 8)Restrllctllring/200 1/DIT/Pt.fi le

dated 30.03.2007 (copy enclosed as Annex- l ). For 2014 Examination too. the eligibility criteria of

Skill! Grade II for ITO Exam would he the same as modified by CBDT in F.No. DE

2()12 /l\o tilication/OIT. A ccordingly. only those Stenographers Grade-l! are e ligible to appear in ITO

The cundidate shall fi II the application form onIine on the website: www.incometaxindia.gov.in . The

cundidurcs would be enabled to lill the online application form from 15.05.20 17 (10 a.m.) onwards. The last

Pr.C1 I-( Fxamination) shall be Ol). 0(l.20 17 (8:00 p.m.). No application form will he accepted after thi s

or the application or the candidates . After verification the Pr. CC IT/ Pr.CIT (Exam) shall scan all the

app lication forms so received in their respective regions. The roll number wise scanned forms shall be sent to

the Directorate in CDs. The physical forms (pr int-outs after attestation and certific ation ) shall also be sent to

lilis Direc torate as was bei ng done in ea rlier years.

"1 lo l lowing points may be kept in mine! by candid ates while tilling the application forms-

(a) The candidates should carefully fill the application form after readin g the instruct ions printed

above the form .

(h ) Only one applic ation form has to be fill ed by a candidate.

(c ) The previous records of the candidates will be reflected agai nst his roll no. in the application form

and he will be given an option to raise a query, if any data is incorrect. However, his claim would

he accepted on ly after ver ification. The candidates. who are appearing for the first time would till

the informa tion as avai lable with them which will be accepted only after verification by the

(d) Till' candida tes who are changi ng their category from 'PQ to Normal' or 'Normal to Betterment '

will be able to do so only alte r approva l of this Directorate after verifica tion by the PI'. CCiT/

(e) The candidate is required to upload a scanned passport size photograph and his scanned signature

(I') A cop:' of the printout of the app lication form may be retained as acknowledgement.

(g) The applicat ion printout that is to be submitted should be handled carefully and SHOULD NOT

BE FOLD ED / PUNCHED OR CRUSHED.

(11) Candidates who do not suhmit a printout of the application form to Pro eerr; Pr. ClI

( Exarn ) for ve ri fica tio n will not he permitted to appeal" in the examination merely on the basis
