Lenze gearboxes and gearedmotors are ready for operation on deliv-ery and are filled with lubricants specific to both the drive and thedesign. The mounting position and design specified in the order arekey factors in choosing the volume of lubricant.

Shaft sealing rings

By default, the gearboxes come with NBR shaft sealing rings at theoutput end. At high speed and unfavourable ambient conditions ashigh temperature, reduced circulation of air etc., Lenze recommendsthe use of Viton shaft sealing rings.

No ventilation is required for gearboxes g500-S130 to S220.

Ventilated gearboxes

The g500-S400 S660 gearbox is supplied with a breather element asstandard.

Gearboxes in combined mounting position

To reduce the number of different versions, the gearboxes can alsobe ordered with combined mounting positions.Depending on the gearbox in question, the following combinationsare available:g500-S130 to S660 in combined mounting position AEFThe breather elements are supplied loose.

The values given in the table refer to the center shaft end force applic-ationpoint andareminimumvalues calculated according to themostunfavourable conditions (force applicationangle,mountingposition,direction of rotation). The valueswere calculated for themotor/gear-box combination with a load capacity of c= 1.3 and an input speedof 1400 rpm.

ƒ If the torque is transmitted via the flange face, max 50 % of theradial force Frad,max are permissible.

Torque plate

The torque is usually supported via the foot or the flange.Another simple option is the integrated torque plate at the housing.Here, the torque is supported only via one point and is, among otherthings, suitable for shaft-mountedgearboxes.Moreover, the suitablerubber buffers provide for a low-tension installation andabsorb slightshocks.

The rubber buffers can be ordered optionally.

Reducing the number of different drive versions with ease

In the past, different output speeds (e.g. for various conveyor speeds)were achieved through use of different gearbox ratios or, in the caseof extreme differences, via the number of pole pairs in the motors.This led to a large number of different motors being required.The Lenze Smart Motor has completely changed this. Thanks to theability to freely adjust the motor speed in a range from 500 to 2,600rpm, various speeds cannowbehandled safely and reliablyusing justa singlemotor. This significantly reduces the timeandcosts associatedwith dimensioning, selecting specific units, procurement and ware-housing.

Easy setting

Adapting the Lenze Smart Motor to the application and performingdiagnostics both take place using NFC (near field communication)technology. Thedrive canbe setupquickly andeasilywithoutopeningthe terminal box, without voltage supply and without complex ad-dressing.The only tool that is required for this is an NFC-capable Androidsmartphone or the Lenze NFC Adapter for PCs. The data can then bereadandwrittenwhile the system isdeenergised–of course includingpassword protection.

The Lenze Smart Motor can be set up using an Android smartphone.The corresponding app (available in both German and English) canbe ordered via www.Lenze.com or downloaded via the Google Store.The data records created are also easy to archive on the smartphone,fromwhere they can then be reloaded to the Lenze Smart Motor forrepeat applications.

Setting via PC

The Lenze SmartMotor canbe set upusing the EASY Starter engineer-ing tool (extended version, software licence "EASY Advanced" or "En-gineer HighLevel" required). The software can easily be downloadedvia www.Lenze.com. Since the settings are very easy and clearlystructured, the Lenze Smart Motor also uses a basic dialog that canbe called up directly via the navigator. The corresponding button islocated directly in the navigation bar. Just like other product settings,the parameter values can be archived here.

Brake resistors

The Lenze SmartMotor can be braked using ramp guidance. If a largeamount of regenerative energy occurs during this process, it needsto be taken up by a brake resistor. Alongside the optional internalbrake resistor, a larger external brake resistor can also be connectedto the X5 terminals. These resistors comply with the IP65 degree ofprotection.

NFC adapter

The settingsof the LenzeSmartMotor canbe specified/adjustedusinga smartphone or a PC. If the settings are to be made using a PC, thisis performed using the EASY Starter engineering tool (extended ver-sion, software licence "EASY Advanced" or "Engineer HighLevel" re-quired). Communication with the motor takes place via an NFC ad-apter. The connection to the PC is established via the USB interface.

Easy setting

The Lenze Smart Motor is easy to set up for its intended applicationsusinganNFC-capable smartphoneor the familiar EASYStarter engin-eering tool. Both tools are suitable for entering speeds, directions ofrotation and start/stop functions in plain text. No special conversionsare necessary for the speeds. Engineering can really be this easy.

Setting via smartphone

The Lenze Smart Motor can be set up using an Android smartphone.The corresponding app (available in both German and English) canbe ordered via www.Lenze.com or downloaded via the Google Store.The data records created are also easy to archive on the smartphone,fromwhere they can then be reloaded to the Lenze Smart Motor forrepeat applications.

Setting via PC

The Lenze SmartMotor canbe set upusing the EASY Starter engineer-ing tool (extended version, software licence "EASY Advanced" or "En-gineer HighLevel" required). The software can easily be downloadedvia www.Lenze.com. Since the settings are very easy and clearlystructured, the Lenze Smart Motor also uses a basic dialog that canbe called up directly via the navigator. The corresponding button islocated directly in the navigation bar. Just like other product settings,the parameter values can be archived here.
