Last year, we went to Leeds in December and spent a great night at The Left Bank venue there. Some of the things we learned together that night are part of the programme this weekend. So, this year we decided we’d go on the road in the autumn — travelling to Manchester, Birmingham and London this November. We’re looking for people who have programming ideas, experience, expertise, address books to die for, networks, vision and passion. Some of the ideas that are shared and people we meet on these sorts of occasions change the course of the festival. We know that there’s wisdom and inspiration in the crowd. We are only a small office team based in London; so this is us making connections, spreading the net, listening more widely. We know we don’t have all the answers. We make an ambitious and wide-ranging festival, punching well above our weight, but we need help in doing this. We’re especially looking to find and work with volunteer expert curators in various strands of the programme as we grow and develop. We’ll only have 50 places up for grabs on each evening. Email [email protected] by October 31 to express your interest and we’ll be in touch.

GREENBELT ON THE ROADThere’s nothing like meeting with Greenbelters and hearing their ideas for the festival.

We love our volunteers and all they do to build the festival, both during theyear and over the festival itself. Greenbelt wouldn’t happen without them.Every single one brings something different to the festival, whatever their skills and experiences.

We would like to say a massive thank you to every single one of them.Over the weekend see how many different volunteers you can talk to as youenjoy the festival, and don’t forget to add your thanks to ours.

Oh, and if what you’ve seen all these wonderful people are doing, andyou think it looks fun, don’t forget to sign up to volunteer with us next year. Applications go live in the New Year.
