Cut 2 from fabric (C) Top of purse pattern TO EMBROIDER TOP PIECE: DO NOT CUT OUT PIECE UNTIL EMBROIDERED I cut a piece to fit the length of my embroidering hoop Once I have the hoop in I design what I want the top to say. I place the pattern in the hoop and trace out the image or quote with my machine to see that it fits within the pattern.

Once I have embroidered I take it out of the hoop and line up the pattern to the quote to be sure I am cutting it even on all sides. A hint is to fold the pattern in half both ways.

I then measure the center point on the embroidered are and place the center of the pattern on it and open the pattern up. You are ready to cut your pattern. Cut another one from a non-embroider piece of material or embroider something for the back also and follow the same steps.

4. Cut two pieces from stabilizer ¼ inch short width

wise than the pattern, I do this so that I can fold over a hem when I place it to the top of the bag to be sewn across. Shown in image below.

5. I iron the seam allowance over the edge of the

stabilizer.

ASSEMBLE INSIDE OF PURSE: 20. Cut (2) from Fabric B using base pattern for purse 21. Cut (2) or (4) from Fabric A for inside pockets using inside pocket pattern. 22. With wrong sides facing sew top and bottom of inside pockets patterns. Turn inside out and place stabilizer inside for durability for the pockets.

23. Do this twice to create pockets for front and back of the inside of the purse. 24. Place the pocket on the base fabric 1 ½ up from bottom and 3” in from each edge.

25. Pin in place and sew a straight stitch on the bottom. 26. At this point you can decide how many pockets you want for each side and the size of them. On the front part of the inside. I measured to the center and did a

double straight stitch to create two pockets. On the backside I measured 3” from each side and did a double straight stitch to create 3 pockets.

27. I place my sew in label to the side of the inside and place both right sides together.

28. Sew ¼ seam allowance on the sides and the bottom leaving an opening for turning. 29. Once they are sewn together you will know place your magnetic snap 1 ½ inches down from the top and 3 3/4 from each side.

30. Trim off all thread. 31. Place the outside of the bag inside of the lining right sides together.

32. Sew the top part with a ¼ seam allowance.

33. Now you will feed the outside part through the inside turning inside out. 34. Finish off with a ¼ straight stitch along the top of the purse.

35. Now you are ready to embellish your purse with ribbon and buttons.

PATTERN: Your pattern can be easily made by using the following measurements and connection the lines. The top part of the pattern should measure 8” the sides 9 1/2 and the bottom 11 inches. The inside pockets should measure 9” at the top 5 ½ on the sides and 10 ¾ on the bottom. HINT: to create my top piece and inside pockets I cut the pattern twice on my cricut and then decided what size I wanted each to be and cut them from the second pattern. The dotted lines below shows how I cut it for these patterns.
