Hybrid 5500/5600
10GbE Uplinks
• Basic rules:
• Maximum of 8 Switches per Stack, or
• 400 Ports per Stack (when using 5698s)
• Stacking Capacity:
• Pure 5500 Stack – 80Gbps
• Pure 5600 Stack – 144Gbps
• Hybrid 5500/5600 Stack – 80Gbps*
• 10GbE Uplinks
• Traditionally 5530 required, but…
• 5650 now solves this
• 5698s provide even better $/Port & smaller footprint
* 80Gbps where 5500s & 5600s connect, although 144Gbps where any 5600s are directly connect

What is the ERS 8800..?
Importantly the Ethernet Routing Switch 8800 v7.0 software introduces support for the new 8895 Switch Fabric/CPU Module.
When an 8000 Chassis is equipped with the 8895 SF/CPU, this system is known as an Ethernet Routing Switch 8800.
When equipped with an 8692 SF/CPU module (with SuperMezz) the system is known as an Ethernet Routing Switch 8600.
ERS 8800 v7.0 software can only operate on an ERS 8600 system with a select hardware configuration.

Dual-Input AC or DC Power Supplies
Dual-Input versions of the 1462W 8005 Power Supplies
Provides grid redundancy
Flexible deployment options ensure power resiliency • Using a single Supply provides
partial protection
• Use multiple Supplies for full protection – N:N
Supported on 8010, 8010co, 8006, & 8003R*
Requirements: v5.0 or v7.0*
Do not mix AC and DC power supplies in the
same chassis.

Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Padrão IEEE 802.3af
Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE): Switch
Powered Device (PD): Telefone IP ou Acess Point (AP) Aplicável a todos equipamentos, com exceção do ERS 8800/8600.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Classes IEEE 802.3af
A diferença entre a energia na saída do switch e na entrada do
dispositivo é relativa a perda no cabo ethernet.
Capacidade PoE do 2500
