Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMT) are responsible for inspection, service, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components and systems, including the airframe, piston engines, turbine engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, propellers, instrumentation, warning and environmental systems. These technicians are trained to repair, maintain and replace parts of the aircraft and do so to the highest standards. They also conduct detailed inspections between take-offs and landings. AMT’s are required to document repairs and maintain all maintenance records of the aircraft they oversee. Details include – the amount of hours an aircraft has been in flight, number of days since the last inspection, operation cycles, and various other aspects. They also need to address and divulge problems or discrepancies described by pilots. All AMT’s have a very important responsibility in trying to stay up to date with all the technological advances in their industry. mybrcc.edu AAS
