Avoca’s Annual Fall Festival

October 19th 11:00am-2:00pm

It will soon be time again for Avoca’s annual Fall Festival! The kids love the games, inflatables, and food. Parents love getting into the competitive spirit of the live auction. You can get some great items while helping our school. There will be plenty of good food and entertainment, so come, have fun, and support the Avoca PTA!

Fall Festival: Live Auction October 19th 2:00pm-3:00pm

Each class contributes items for themed baskets to be auctioned off at the Fall Festival, ranging from $30 up. Homeroom parents will be contacting you about basket item donations for your child’s class. Your help in soliciting or donating gift cards, goods, and services will be greatly appreciated. If you haven’t been contacted yet and are able to help, please contact Beverly Gurley at: Beverlygurley31@ gmail.com. Proceeds from the auction are used to purchase needed items for our school. The auction will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the cafeteria and registration will be required to participate.

Fall Festival: Vendors Needed Food and craft vendors are needed for the Fall Festival on October 19th. Anyone interested should contact Ashley Britt at (423)742-0131 or [email protected].

Homeroom Parents Beverly Gurley will be hosting a meeting for anyone interested in becoming a Homeroom Parent on August 22nd at 6PM, in the Avoca cafeteria.

Fundraiser Update

PTA Membership Drive

WE WANT YOU! Avoca PTA will soon be starting our annual PTA drive and we want you to join! Here are the top 4 reasons to join Avoca PTA! 1- THE CHILDREN BENEFIT Research shows that participating in your child's school and showing engagement helps them perform better academically. 2- THE SCHOOL BENEFITS PTA provides support for school teachers and administration which in turn creates a positive and caring atmosphere in the school.

3- MAKE CONNECTIONS Get to know the teachers and staff better and make life-long friends with other parents at the school. 4- IT'S GOOD FOR YOU! Socializing with other parents and volunteering to do good for your child's school is fun, healthy and rewarding! READY TO SIGN UP?? Contact PTA Membership Chair Sheena Tinsley at [email protected].

Reward School Status

We are a Reward School for the third year in a row! Reward schools are those with an overall accountability score greater than or equal to a 3.1 on a 4 point scale. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our children, and PTA, thank you for your continued support.

Box Tops for Education

Please send Box Tops with your child in a sealed envelope or zip top bag, and we’ll take care of the rest. Classroom Boxtop contest is over August 30, 2019. The winning classroom will get extra recess and a popsicle party!
