ISTEP Testing(Graduation Qualifying Exam)
Students must pass the English and Math ISTEP exam in order to graduate from Avon High School and receive a diploma.
The ISTEP test will be given to sophomores in two parts this semester:
Part I: February 25-March 13
Part II: April 8-May 3
There will be opportunities for retaking the exam if not passed on the first attempt. Please stress the importance of this exam with your student.

Students must apply online at www.area31enrollment.com in addition to selecting the course on Avon’s pre-enrollment form and entering course in PowerSchool. The online application deadline is February 28.
College Fairs/Exploration
Hendricks County College and Career Fair Thurs, Feb 21, 2019, at the Hendricks County Convention Center in Danville. Sophomores will receive postcards in the mail closer to the date.
College Visit Days – juniors have two approved days to visit on campus.
College Rep Visits to Avon – students can
sign up in Naviance to attend these visits
during SRT throughout the junior year.
Get Involved in Extra Curricular Activities
Colleges want to see student involvement!
A list of active clubs and organizations is available in the guidance office as well as on the high school website.
Involvement helps develop skills in: leadership, time-management, self-discipline, citizenship, community, etc.

Current Sophomores who are 21st Century Scholars should continue to complete all steps in the Scholar Success Program
