By Rev. DR. MaRk J. WaDe

Have you ever seen a situation, been in a circumstance, or con-templated a move or an inter-vention and found yourself saying, “That’s impossible”? Of course you have, we all

have, because our natural inclination is to measure our ability to be “victorious in the battle” based on our own intellect, strength, resources and relationships. This “natural”, but worldly, kind of thinking limits our response to our mental and physical realms, realms that depend totally on the ability of man. But we serve a BIG, BIG God, the God of possibilities, the God with Whom ALL things are possible!

God is bigger than ALL of our circum-stances and has a solution, an answer, and a miracle, if needed, for our every need. And if that wasn’t enough, He put The Power, His Anointing, The Holy Spirit, inside each one of us who believe Jesus is our Lord and our Savior. The key to accessing that power requires a paradigm shift in our thinking where we turn our focus away from our worldly supports and resources and look to the spirit realm where every-thing we need is located. The formula is oh so simple, but more powerful than all of the armies of the world combined...“FEAR NOT, JUST BELIEVE!” GOD IS who He says He is, JESUS IS the Healer, and GOD IS still in the miracle working business.

He WILL do whatever you need; heal you, prosper you, protect you, restore you, give you peace, provide “a way out of no way,” manifest a miracle that surpasses the laws of nature and human understanding. How? By following His command, “Fear Not, Just Believe”--IT IS POSSIBLE!

Not long after the final session of our mission conference in the fall of 2008, Missionary Pastor Kelly Daniel and I had a dis-cussion about the need, as well as the feasibility, of bringing

a medical mission team to Albania as an evangelistic outreach effort to support the work that he and his wife had established in Korce, Albania. This unique mission-ary family who said “yes” to the Lord was pioneering a ministry in an area that was known for destroying the passion and zeal of western missionaries. The additional challenges were quite obvious as they inten-tionally chose to spend their lives reaching a forgotten group of the Albanian popula-tion, the Gypsies. In addition, as they were from St. Lucia and Trinidad respectively, Kelly and Ursula relied on the Lord to penetrate the cultural, racial and language barriers. Today, it is absolutely amazing to see how the Lord has given them favor and a measurable portion of success after 18 years of ministry in Korce and some of the surrounding regions. Their entire family, including their children Kellian, Kathryn and A.J., speak Albanian fluently and are well suited for their assignment.

Albania is a rather interesting study in terms of it’s history and the many chal-lenges from the surrounding nations that have imposed their will on the Albanian people over the centuries. They are a people who are seemingly determined to survive despite the odds against them. I did get the sense that they have been victimized by generational oppression. As one of the few missionary families who have intentionally chosen to min-ister in an environment like Albania, the Daniels are most certainly to be commended. Albania also has the dis-tinction of being recognized as the poor-est country in Europe, making ministry there that much more of a challenge. To get an idea of where they are, Albania is located in Southeastern Europe bordered by Montenegro in the northwest, Kosovo in the northeast, Macedonia to the east

and Greece to the south and southeast. Her coastline extends 380 miles along the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Albania was once part of Serbia and has a population of almost three million people.

Bethel Gospel Assembly has been so blessed to have made four evangelistic humanitarian missions to Albania to bold-ly declare the love of the Lord Jesus Christ to the Albanian people. Many have given their lives to the Lord and the friendships that our team members have made will be long-lasting. Our last couple of teams were privileged to serve in the areas of general medicine, pediatric care, gynecologic care, and dentistry. Dentistry is such a great

need because the Gypsies in Korce have been wrongly told that proper oral hygiene and care will result in having more decay and losing their teeth. We would love to be able to assemble a dental team of 15 – 20 dentists and just do a dental outreach for the people of Korce. It is so easy to minister to them once their lives have been touched in such a practical and beneficial way.

Please pray for our team to use every legitimate opportunity to make Christ known among the nations. I would also like to appeal to those who read this article to regularly remember the Daniel family in prayer as they continue to serve on the front line. n

Bishop Dr. Valli Y. Walton (AWMF 2003 International Missions Award recipient) has a deep desire to help the poor, globally. During a visit to India, she witnessed the great need of the people and decided to do

something. One of the most evident problems in India is children abandoned due to the death of their parents from AIDS and other diseases. As Senior Pastor of Spirit Of Life Fellowship (SOLF) in White Plains, NY, Bishop Valli charged her congregation to get involved. They started providing rice, school supplies and funds to help the abandoned children. Today, SOLF supports many orphanages in India and is involved with the training of leaders who also have a burden to help deprived children. One such person is her spiritual daughter, Rev. Dr. S. Hannah Nesamani who cares for

children at Hana’s House, an outreach of SOLF.Dr. Valli’s desire is to start an International

Leadership Mission Control Center where people can come from all over the world and receive train-ing in mission outreach and evangelism. Thus, church planting is a big focus of Dr. Valli’s ministry, along with supporting orphanages and widows in places like Africa, India, Pakistan, the Caribbean, Israel, Greece and the Philippines. A recent affilia-tion will also bring help and training to Cuba. Dr. Valli states, “As Christians, we are called to know about, to pray for, participate with, and financially support the restoration of people on a global level. Knowledge applied is power”. Her vision is for

Christians to carry out the Great Commission, going into all the world and preaching the Gospel. n

These days Colette McDermott finds herself busy attending softball games and look-ing for junior prom dresses for her 17 year old adopt-

ed daughter, Omana (see photo). Omana was born in Haiti and when she was four years old, she was beaten so badly by a mentally dis-turbed aunt that she obtained frac-tures to her head and jaw. Two years after her beating, she was brought to see the medical mission team of NOVA who was providing care in the mountains of Southwest Haiti. They determined that Omana’s frac-tures were healing poorly and helped to arrange for her to come to the USA for corrective surgery. Omana’s host family was the McDermotts. As God would have it, the McDermotts adopted Omana. She has grown up to be a beautiful young lady with aspirations of becoming a licensed nurse practitioner and wants to con-tinue to serve in Haiti as a medical missionary. This is the story that grabbed Dr. Wade when he met Clolette McDermott in 2005.

Colette McDermott is one of the co-founders of NOVA Hope for Haiti (NOVA) along with Charles F. Kordula, MD (president of NOVA) and Joseph F. Nuzzi (vice-president of NOVA). In 2005,

they formed the organization. In 2006, NOVA was awarded the Arise and Walk Ministries Foundation Missions Award. The goal of the non-profit organization has been to bring sustainable healthcare to

Haiti, the most needy country in the western hemisphere. NOVA works in conjunction with Haïti’s Minister of Health to coordinate periodic medi-cal missions and to establish a local healthcare infrastructure.

NOVA has been diligent in its pursuits to make healthcare a real-ity for the people of Haiti. Recently, they partnered with Haitian Pilgrims of Lewisville, TX to help manage and operate the health clinic, Centre Materno et Infantil de Boileau. Although open to the public, the health clinic’s primary focus is the health and welfare of women and children. To run the clinic, NOVA has hired two registered nurses, two laboratory technologists, a practical nurse who oversees the pharmacy, and a full-time physician who also serves as the clinic administrator.

The outlook is great for Haiti and NOVA! With a healthcare facility in the region, the healthcare issues that plague Haiti such as worm infes-tation, stomach problems, malaria, dysentery, allergies, burn wounds, and sexually transmitted diseases will be addressed more readily. It has been a long road, but one that has pro-duced much fruit. Ms. McDermott states that she feels blessed to have the opportunity to give back in a significant way to those less fortu-nate. She also states that every mis-

sion trip makes her feel more and more grateful for how blessed her life has been, and she returns to the mission field more energized, wanting to do more! n

It is a blessing to be able to give back in a

significant way to those less fortunate...

Long lines form to receive healthcare.

Omana at age 6 in Haiti and now at 17 and gorgeous in the USA.

NOVA is working diligently to raise the funds needed to complete a pediatric medical clinic in Cavaillon, Haiti. The construction of the medical facility is important as it will allow the organization to provide consistent care to the people of Cavaillon and the surronding communities. This past January 2013, NOVA completed their 14th medical mission. Once the clinic is built, they will have rotating groups come through to provide care on a regular basis.
