    Our children, our future

    School Prospectus 2014/2015

Head teacher: Mr. Mohammed Umair Chair of Governing Body: Mrs Layla Adan

project of the Cityside Primary Trust

  • Welcome to Ayasofia Primary School

    Assalamualayku-Warahmatullah

    Dear parent/ prospective parent,

I hope this prospectus gives you an insight into the life of

our school. You will find information about many aspects of

the school life, how it is organised, what we endeavour to

offer our children, what we expect of them and how we go

    about achieving our goals.

Children attending the school range from 5 - 11 years old.

They transfer to secondary school at eleven years of age.

Our ethos is to provide each child a broad and exciting

curriculum in a safe and secure Islamic environment.

We feel that this is best achieved in partnership with

parents and families and we would encourage you to share in

your child's education and development as much as possible.

The teachers and I are available before school begins each

day. If you wish to discuss anything at length with a member

of staff it is sensible to make an appointment as they are

often busy and cannot always stop to talk especially in lesson

time. We will always try to give you as much time as

necessary to discuss any concerns. The staff and I are

looking forward to a very positive working relationship with

    you and your child/ren.

    Mohammed Umair

    children themselves.

of the Prophet (saw) such as cooperation, patience,

for the challenges of life in the contemporary world, and

enhancing their Love for Allah (SWT) and His Rasul (SAW)

To provide a fun accelerated programme that enables each

child to learn his or her own pace, achieved by maintaining

    relatively small class size.

    Our organisational targets

Recognise and develop each individuals strengths and talents.

Enable children to become confident, resourceful, enquiring and

    independent learners.

Foster children's self-esteem and help them build positive

    relationships with other people.

Develop children's self-respect and encourage children to

respect the ideas, attitudes, values and feelings of others.

Show respect for all cultures and, in so doing, promote positive

    attitudes towards other people.

    citizens.

  • History of the school

In January 2008 a project to open a primary school in Tower

Hamlets was initiated by the cityside Primary Trust , focused

on the educational and upbringing of our future generations.

The aim was to establish a unique Muslim Primary School in a

borough blessed with a large population of Muslims.

Alhamdulillah with the grace of Allah (SWT) a premise was

found to fulfill this great objective after an exhaustive search

for an appropriate premise in an ideal location.
