TThhee LLiivviinngg BBiibblleeHis name was Bill. He had

wild hair, wore a T-shirt withholes in it, jeans, and no

shoes. This was literally hiswardrobe for his entire four

    years of college. He wasbrilliant - kind of esoteric;

and very, very bright. Hebecame a Christian while

    attending college.

Across the street fromthe campus was a well-dressed, very

    conservative church. They

    wanted to develop a ministry

to the students, but werenot sure how to go about it.One day Bill decided to go

there. He walked in with noshoes, wearing jeans, his T-

shirt, and wild hair. The service had already

    started so Bill started down

the aisle looking for a seat. The church was completelypacked and he couldnt find a

seat. By then, people werereally looking a bituncomfortable, but no one

said anything. Bill got closerand closer and closer to the

    pulpit, and when he realized

there were no seats, he justsat down right on the carpet.

    By now the people were

really uptight, and thetension in the air was thick.About this time, the

minister realized that, fromway at the back of thechurch, a deacon was slowly

making his way toward Bill. Now the deacon was in his

    eighties, had silver-gray

hair, and a three-piece suit.A godly man - very elegant -very dignified very courtly.

He walked with a cane and,as he started walking towardthis boy, everyone was

saying to themselves thatyou couldnt blame him forwhat he was going to do.

How could you expect a manof his age and of his

    background to understand

some college kid o the floor? It took a long time for theman to reach the boy. The

church was utterly silentexcept for the clicking ofthe man's cane.

    All eyes were focused on

him. You couldnt even hearanyone breathing. Theminister couldnt even preach

    the sermon until the deacon

did what he had to do. Theyfinally saw the elderly man

drop his cane on the floor. With great difficulty, he

    lowered himself and sat

    down next to Bill and

worshipped with him so hewouldnt be alone. Everyone

    choked up with emotion.

When the ministerregained control, he said,

"What I'm about to preach, you will never remember.

What you have just seen, you

will never forget. Be carefulhow you live. You may be theonly Bible some people will

    ever read."

May 14th and June 18th marked very

special days at Mt. Olive as the AYS

    honored the remarkable achievements of

the mothers and fathers of our church.

Mothers were treated to a cakereception and free massage on their day,

while the fathers bonded while testing

    out their bowling skills!

A special tribute was given during

the service to the more seasoned

mothers and fathers of the church: Sis.

    Louise Dunson, Sis. Lorraine Henri,

Elder R. Tottress, and Elder Richard

    Norman.

Every mother and father of our
