IN OUR PARISH COMMUNITY
Advertisers make the bulletin possible Liturgical Publications Inc. (LPi) will have Matt Franszczak, our
advertising representative, visiting our business office within the
next few weeks to service our publication. We would like to thank
our present advertisers for renewing their ad and thereby
continuing their support. For those interested in placing a new ad,
this is your opportunity.
Our publication is a primary way we use to communicate with you.
Through our arrangement with LPi, we do not pay for the publication
printing, which saves us thousands of dollars every year. Our
publication is supported through the generosity of the advertisers—
many of whom are our own parishioners or members of our local
community. During these difficult economic times, please support
our advertisers with your patronage. Tell the business owners that
you appreciate their support of our publication through their
advertising. This is one small way we can work within our own
community to weather these challenging times. A strong and vibrant
publication is good for our community and a strong business
community is good for our church.
To obtain information about advertising for the new publication
year, please contact our office or Matt Franszczak directly at
262-207-2588 or [email protected].

Today’s second reading reminds us that through
Christ we have been delivered from the old law
and have become sons and daughters of God.
New Year’s Day provides a perfect opportunity
to ask ourselves the question: Does my life
reflect my gratitude for all that my
loving Father has given me?

Reflect Christ; Live Stewardship Thank you to all who have returned their Reflect
Christ; Live Stewardship response cards. As of
December 20, we have had 38.56% of them
returned. Even if you are unable to make a
commitment, please note that and return your card.
Response cards may be returned via mail or dropped
in the collection basket. As you will read in the
monthly letter to parishioners, based on the
responses received, the annual offertory is forecast
to increase by $19,165 if no further responses were
received. This increase in offerings will better help
us live our mission “...to help bring about the
Kingdom of God, through worshiping in sacrament,
teaching the Word, and serving as Jesus did.”
Epiphany concert The choirs of St. Bernadette, St. Catherine of
Alexandria, and Our Lady of Good Hope will join together for a
concert on Sunday, January 8, at 1:30PM, at St. Bernadette to
celebrate the close of the Christmas season. Please join us!
Catholic Stewardship Appeal update Through your support, the Catholic Stewardship Appeal raises funds
for programs and ministries throughout our ten-county archdiocese.
Thank you for bringing help, hope, and healing. Our 2016 parish goal
is $19,000. As of December 5, our parish had reached 62.61% of that
goal with donations of $11,896. Thank you for your generosity!
Take the 1% Challenge What is the 1% challenge? It is a way for you to encounter Jesus in
the Scriptures through prayer:
Get to know Jesus by taking 1% of your day (15 minutes) to pray
with Scripture for 30 days.
Introduce yourself to the Bible.
Learn how to pray and to listen in prayer.
Sow seeds of a habit.
Why the 1% challenge? There is a difference between knowing about
Jesus and knowing Jesus. Many people in our churches may know
about Jesus without actually knowing Him, His love for them, and His
presence with them.
Instructional cards are available in the gathering area for you to use
when you accept the 1% challenge.
