    DESCRIPTION OF EXAMINATION ENGLISH B1-B2

    The examination for accreditation levels B1 and B2 in English consists of FOUR PARTS , designed

    to assess various aspects of language proficiency: reading comprehension, listening comprehension,

    written production and oral production.To achieve accreditation at any level, you must pass the fourskills.

    Candidates should try to do all the tasks of the test. There is enough time to make each of the parties.

    They all contribute to achieve the level, either B1 or B2.

    PART 1

    Reading Comprehension (about 75 minutes)

    This part consists of 4-6 texts of different types(eg narrative, descriptive, opinion, news, etc..).

    Thee is a minimum level 2 texts B1 and B2 level 2 texts.

    There will be approximately 40 total items in CEF levels B1

    and B2.

    The items can be of different types:

    a. Item response or multiple response alternative. Thecandidate must choose a correct answer from four

    options. In all cases, only one is correct, while others are

    dis tractors, ie correct responses.

    b.Item reintegration of a fragment of a text. The candidate

    must be inserted in its original location a word or some

    text that was previously removed there from. There may

    be fragments which correspond to the text and which actas dis tractors.

    c. Item to relate or match. The candidate must relate one by

    one the elements of two lists formed one by short texts or

    fragments of a longer text, and the other by a short text or

    a statement.

    d.Short response item with a maximum of four words. Theanswer is considered wrong if it exceeds four words.

    Contractions, for example, does not count as a word. No

    need to write complete sentences.

    PART 2

    Listening (approximately 45 minutes)

    This part consists of 4-6 recorded texts of different types

    (eg narrative, descriptive, opinion, biographical,

    conversation can be formal, informal or academic).There

    is a minimum level of 2 recordings B1 and B2 level 2

    recordings. Each recording is heard twice.

    There will be approximately 40 total items in CEF levels

    B1 and B2.

    The items can be of different types:

    a. Item response or multiple response alternative.The

    candidate must choose a correct answer from four

    PART 3

    Written production (60 minutes)

    It consists of the wording of two texts of different types (eg letter informal / formal,

    informal email / formal, article, report, essay, story, message or note).The first text evaluates the B1 level and have a length of between 150 and 200

    words. The second text evaluates the B2 level and have a length of between 250 and

    300 words.

    Evaluation criteria:

    Following the recommendations of the Common European Framework of Reference

    for Languages (CEFR) take into account the following criteria;

    Suitability for the task

    Cohesion and coherence

    Grammatical Range and Control

    Scope and Vocabulary ControlThe CEFR defines general language skills in producing user written as follows:

    B1 - Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal

    interest that.

    B2 - Can produce clear, detailed text on various topics, and explain a viewpoint on a

    topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

    PART 4

    Spoken production

    It consists of an individual interview lasting 7-10 minutes.

    The test consists of three parts:Questions about daily life (B1)

    Description of a photo and general questions about issues related to photo

    (B1/B2)

    The candidate must give their opinion on a topic provided by the examiner

    (B2)

    Evaluation criteria:

    Following the recommendations of the Common European Framework of Reference

    for Languages (CEFR) take into account the following criteria;

    Scope

    Correction

    Fluency

    Interaction

    Coherence

    The CEFR defines general language skills in oral production user as follows:

    B1 - has sufficient language to get by and enough vocabulary to express with some

    hesitation and circumlocutions on topics such as family, hobbies and interests, work,

    travel and current events, but lexical limitations cause repetition and even,

    Sometimes, difficulties in the formulation.

    B2 - Speak clearly and without express ostensibly have to limit what you mean. Hassufficient language to make clear descriptions, express viewpoints and develop

    arguments, using some complex sentences and without much notice you are looking

    for the words you need.
