    Tail Base

    1. With B, ch 2.

    2. Round 1 (RS): Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from

    hook; do not join and do not turn6 sc.

    st in next st. Fasten off, leaving long tail for

    sewing.

    Finishing

    1. Note: Use crochet hook or latch hook

    (optional) to attach strands for mane and tail.

    2. Mane: Cut 10 lengths of C. Holding two

    strands together, fold in half. Attach strands

    on mane base, as follows: Insert hook from

    RS to WS and back to RS around any free

    loop of mane base. Insert hook into folded

    strand, draw fold through stitch to form loop;

    draw ends of folded yarn through loop and

    draw tight. Trim mane.

    3. Tail: Cut 15 lengths of B. Holding three

    strands together, fold in half. Attach strands

    on tail base, as follows: insert hook from RS

    to WS and back to RS around any free loop

    of tail base. Insert hook into folded strands,

    draw fold through stitch to form loop, drawends of folded yarn through loop and draw

    tight. Trim tail. Sew neck to body; stuff

    firmly. Sew head to neck. Flatten ears in half

    lengthwise; sew to sides of head. (Note: If

    using buttons or embroidery for eyes, sew

    eyes to head between Rounds 15 and 16.)

    Beginning on base of neck, sew mane to

    neck beginning at base of neck and

    continuing to top of head. Stuff and sew

    horn to top of head where mane ends. Sew

    tail on top back of body. Stuff legs firmly;

    sew to underside of body. With B, embroider

    nose on face (optional). Using yarn needle,

    weave in all ends.
