During P.I.E. (Prevention. Intervention. Enrichment.) teachers
work with students based on their needs, which have been
identified through Star testing. The goal is to identify student
needs early, addressing them in a systematic way to increase
student success.

Attendance: A few important reminders!
School hours are 8:20am-3:35pm for AIS students. Arrival time for walkers
- no earlier than 8:10am (7:50am if participating in breakfast program).
Students have a lunch/recess break between 11:58am and 12:40pm.
An essential factor ensuring academic success is also one of the most basic:
going to school every day. Research repeatedly shows that one of the big-
gest factors influencing your child’s academic success is your child's at-
tendance record .
Arriving Late/Leaving Early: If your child is arriving late/leaving school early, please call
or send a note to the office. All students must be signed in/out by a parent/guardian.
Illness/Vacation/ Family Business: A parent/guardian must call the Absentee
hotline (715) 839-6095 or the AIS 715-838-7111 if your child is going to be
absent. Please provide a reason why your child will not be attending (e.g. ill-
ness, vacation).
Number of Days Allowed: A student may be excused by a parent/guardian for up to
10 days in a school year. Course work missed during the absence must be
made up.
Unexcused Absences: Students who are absent from school, without
the office being notified by a parent/guardian, shall be considered unexcused
(truant).
Appointments: Medical, dental, chiropractic, optometric or other valid professional
appointments. Parents/guardians are requested to make their appointments during non-
school hours. Parents/guardians may sign their child out of school before the appointment
and sign them in following the appointment. For an absence to be considered medically
exempt, an appointment card with date and time seen will suffice.
Habitual Truancy: The school attendance officer shall notify the parent/guardian of a stu-
dent who is habitually truant by certified or registered mail. "Habitual truant" means a stu-
dent who is absent from school, without an acceptable excuse, for part or all of five or
more days on which school is held during a school semester.
Thank you for your cooperation.
