Meet the Specials Teachers!
Music Room 202
Ms. Chamberlain has been teaching music at Seaton for five years. She enjoys incorporating movement activities into her lessons for all children. Ms. Chamberlain teaches guitar lessons during our AfterSchool Program.
Art
Room 210
Ms. Thomas is the Art teacher at Seaton. She does whatever it takes to instill a love of “the arts” in our students. Ms. Thomas organizes and supports several of our partnerships: Kennedy Center, Art Around the Corner, Children Are Citizens, Embassy Adoption.
Health/P.E.
Room 215
Mr. Chavis wears many hats at Seaton School. Not only is he our PE teacher, he coaches DC Scores soccer team, supports our wellness activities and leads our SERT work. Because of Mr. Chavis’ participation in various workshops, Seaton students participate in biking, swimming and tennis.
Health/P.E. Room 215
Ms. Gainey joined the Seaton Learning Community three years ago. She enjoys working with our youngest students and our students in self-‐contained classes. Ms. Gainey coaches our spring kickball team.
Science/ Social Studies
Room 205
Ms. Smith has been teaching at Seaton for 30+ years. She has a passion for facilitating hands-‐on learning experiences in science and social studies. We are excited that Ms. Smith will share that passion with our students this year. Ms. Smith is also the Treasurer for PTO.
Library First Floor
Ms. Spern is the Librarian at Seaton. Over the years, Ms. Spern has inspired readership by creating a diverse and interesting book collection. She organizes our Book Fair and coordinates our Author Visits. Ms. Spern facilitates the Digital Literacy Program with our second grade classes. Due to her work with this program, she has received an Ambassador level distinction.
World Language We are happy to welcome Mr. Martin to Seaton. He looks forward to working with our Seaton students and meeting our Seaton families.
