SUMMARY OF OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE Agriculture: Plant & Soil Sciences/ Plant Breeding/ Horticulture Forestry: Agro-ecology, Sylviculture/ Geography/ GIS/ Research Environmental Studies: Ecology/ Climate change/ Food Security As a Plant & Soil scientist researcher and lecturer, I am highly interested in complex environmental studies issues. Expressly in the interactions between climate variability and food security, agroecology, social sciences, and finally information technology and policies effects on improving food security crisis in the SADC region, also called Southern Africa. My investigations focuses on, how small household farmers and prominent farmers livelihood contribute to local environmental changes and the impact of those shifts to the global environment level. I also examine, how food security is affected at the household level. My study is multi- sectorial showing the integration of multi-natural sciences fields. Those fields are but not limited to: natural resource and sustainable land management, food security and climate change, land use change and planning, environmental degradation and information technology in policies making. My research interests are: To explore permaculture as an adaptive strategy against climate variability, how to adapt local agriculture to temperature increases, evapotranspiration, droughts, and floods, how to limit yield reduction of staple crops, how to shift to a new agricultural system mimicking the nature and environmental friendly. That new agricultural way is also called “Conservation Agriculture.”

As a Plant & Soil scientist researcher and lecturer, I am highly interested in complex environmental studies issues.

My study is multi-sectorial showing the integration of multi-natural sciences fields.

We established an independent scientific research institution in Kinshasa, Congo (DRC). This institution is a community- based hands-on training and extension education center. The primary goal of our ground scientific research is to teach grass-root people how to fish, stead of giving them fish to eat once. By knowing how to fish, small farmers will be empowered and capable of taking control of their food security. By practicing agro-pastoral cultivation and animal husbandry technics according to permaculture principals. That means by mimicking the nature and using free abundant natural resources.

A plant & Soil scientist highly interested in complex environmental studies issues. Specially the interactions climate variability, agro-ecology, social science and information technology to improving food security crisis in Sub-Saharan Africa.

My research focus on how small household farmers and big farmers livelihood contribute to local environmental changes and the impact of those change to the global environment and also, on how food security is affected at the household level. My research is multi-sectorial showing the integration of multi-natural sciences fields. Those fields are but not limited to: natural resource and sustainable land management, food security and climate change, land use change and planning, environmental degradation and information technology in policies making.
