Parking is now per- mitted on both sides of the street, which causes many Rivierans to shun the area dur- ' in busy hours when the street is practically limited to one-way traffic. Elsewhere in the Riviera, it is reported that the Hampton Players, whose members In- clude a number from this area, will hold a Christmas party in the Palms in down- town Torrance on Saturday evening, Dec. 0. THK GROUP will open "Christmas Carol" Friday night, will then be dark on Saturday night for the dinner- dance, and will resume show- ings of the current production the following weekend. Jean Snyder is chairman of the Saturday night affair. A CHRISTMAS decoration contest for all homes in the Riviera has been announced by I/ee Shade, rhairmnn of the contest for the sponsoring Hollywood Riviera Homeown- ers Assn. All homes in the Riviera will be eligible for the judging, and no formal entry need be made. All decorated homes will be judged. Certificates will be awarded in four categories, Slade said. Judges will select winners for original lighting, effective use of lights, religious themes, and will select the best decorated block for neighborhood decor- ations. SIX PERSONS won prizes Tuesday in the monthly Holly- wood Rivirra Homeowners Bridge Club meeting. Mrs. Glcnn Johnson won first prize in group one which met at the home of Jack Pelton, 5214 Paseo De Pablo. Mrs. Jack Hackman won second. FIRST PRIZE winner in group two, which met at the home of Mrs. Trudi Anderson of 21020 Reynolds Dr., was Mrs, Deveraux Martin. The hostess won second. Group three's first prize win- ner was Mrs. Robert Weinberg while Mrs. Sam Conte won sec- ond. The group met at the home of Mrs. Norman Donni- | gcr of 201 Via Biiena Ventura. Thugs Rob Newsboy Donald C'liristcnscn of 2,'!<i(> Apple Avo., a newspaper car- rier boy, was robbed of $40 by two youths Monday night as he was crossing Lincoln Avenue just west of Arlington Avenue. The two suspects jumped him from behind, hit him on the head and threw him to the ground, he told police. The two then took Chrlstensen's wallet from his pocket, remov- ed $40 and dropped the wallet on the ground by him, he added. Both suspects, about 18 years old, ran down an alley.
