Aug 4 Meet your escort at the Des Moines airport and fly to Scotland Day 2 Mon. Aug 5 We arrive in Edinburgh, Scotland where you will have a free day to explore the city on your own. Day 3 Tues. Aug 6 Awake to a free morning on you own and meet in the afternoon for the start of our tour. We will tour the Royal Yacht Britannia, the former floating home of the Queen, followed by a welcome drink and group dinner. (D) Day 4 Wed. Aug 7 Our big day starts with highlights of central Edinburgh including the bustling Princes Street and the 200-year-old Georgian “New Town.” We will walk along part of the Royal Mile and visit Edinburgh Castle. Tonight we watch the spectacular Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the Castle Esplanade. (B,D) Day 5 Thurs. Aug 8 We head through the scenic countryside of Perthshire to visit Blair Castle. We will sample a dram on our tour of Blair Athol Distillery. Lunch is on your own in Pitlochry. We then continue through majestic Highland scenery to Nairn. (B,D) Day 6 Fri. Aug 9 We travel alongside Loch Ness and through the Highlands, pausing for photos at the picturesque Eilean Donan Castle. We cross to the Isle of Skye by bridge and visit the Clan Donald Centre at Armadale Castle. We return to the mainland by ferry and take the “Road to the Isles” through some majestic Highland scenery, stopping for photos at the Glenfinnan Monument. (B,D) Day 7 Sat. Aug 10 Enjoy views of the magnificent Highlands as we travel through Glencoe and along the shore of Loch Lomond. Stop in Alloway to visit the poet Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. We end our day by embarking on a ferry ride to Belfast. (B,D) Day 8 Sun. Aug 11 At Titanic Belfast we delve into the history of the famous liner. Walk with a local guide to see the imposing City Hall in Donegall Square and Victorian buildings, including the Opera House and the Crown Liquor Saloon. Your afternoon is free until the evening when we visit the Ulster Folk Museum for a fun country-style dinner and traditional music. Day 2 Mon. Aug 5 We arrive in Edinburgh, Scotland where you will have a free day to

explore the city on your own.

Day 3 Tues. Aug 6 Awake to a free morning on you own and meet in the afternoon for

Day 9 Mon. Aug 12 Enjoy the scenic route of the Nine Glens of Antrim, known for views of mountains, valleys and coastline. Discover the Giant’s Causeway, enormous hexagonal columns and take photos at ruined Dunluce Castle. We then head to Derry for a walking tour with a local guide to see the 17th century city walls and the Diamond, the main central square. (B,D) Day 10 Tues. Aug 13 We visit Glenveagh National Park where Captain Adair built

Glenveagh Castle in 1870. Enjoy a guided tour and stroll the extensive gardens.

Discover Donegal and have lunch independently, then we head to the Belleek Pottery

to watch skilled craftspeople create delicate, decorative pieces. Travel to the

luxurious Kilronan Castle where we will relax and have dinner. (B,D)

Day 11 Wed. Aug 14 We visit the Arigna Mining Centre to experience what life was

like for a coal miner. Then enjoy free time in the historic town of Carrick on Shannon,

situated on the River Shannon, and relax in your castle hotel before dinner. (B,D)

Day 12 Thurs. Aug 15 We head to Galway and join a local guide for a gentle walking

tour. See the medieval city walls, Lynch’s Castle and the narrow streets. Travel

through the Burren, an area of limestone hills that supports a wide range of flora.

View the Cliffs of Moher. This evening we enjoy a medieval-style banquet. (B,D)

Day 13 Fri. Aug 16 Embark on a ferry across the River Shannon Estuary to discover the

Dingle Peninsula. Take in views from Slea Head at the westernmost tip. We stop in

Dingle to explore and sip an Irish coffee on our way to Killarney. (B,D)

Day 14 Sat. Aug 17 Enjoy a horse-drawn jaunting car ride to Ross Castle for views of Lough Leane, Killarney’s largest lake. Head to Kenmare for lunch. Travel along part of the Ring of Kerry for breath taking vistas of mountains, cliffs and beaches. Immerse yourself in farm life at Kissane Sheep Farm. We return to Killarney for a free evening. Day 15 Sun. Aug 18 Visit Blarney Castle to kiss the famous stone or stroll through the gardens then treat yourself to Irish goods at the Blarney

Woollen Mills. We motorcoach through the rich dairy country of Cork and Tipperary, past the gentle slopes of the Galtee Mountains, stopping for photos at the majestic

Rock of Cashel. Arrive in Dublin and enjoy dinner and entertainment at the Abby Tavern. (B,D)

Day 16 Mon. Aug 19 Explore Dublin at your own pace with an independent Dublin open-top bus tour and/or a visit to one of Dublin’s top attractions like the Guinness Storehouse, Teeling Distillery, EPIC Ireland, or the General Post Office Museum. (B)

Day 17 Tues. Aug 20 Today we must return home. We enjoy one last delicious breakfast and then transfer to the Dublin airport. We return on the same day in Des Moines in the late evening with incredible memories to share with family and friends. (B)
