How To: Bag Making 101 This is a tutorial on making the Bags for the People signature draw-string bags. Step 1: Select a good article of clothing, like a T-shirt, and cut a good sized rectangular piece(the torso of the T-shirt). Step 2: Turn fabric inside-out and sew up cut side. Opposite the cut side should be a sewn lip. That will be the top of the bag. Turn bag outside-in. Step 3: Cut two holes through outer layer of lip, close to each other but preferably on either side of a seam. Step 4: Get a good draw-string, cut from a long piece of fabric, and feed through the holes using a safety pin or a barrette.
