Purpose of this Meeting

• Update Advisory Group members on BGI progress

• Complete Broad Review of BLLUP documents

• Identify specific areas for future work/study, and where advisors can help

Balanced Growth Strategy Action Items

• State Support for Watershed Planning Partnerships– Planning support (7 items)

• Financial support, technical support, improving ties to infrastructure planning, and SAWG role

– Implementation support of endorsed plans (6 items)

• Highest priority action: updating and enhancing the special incentives available to participating communities with state endorsed Watershed Balanced Growth Plans


Special IncentivesThese 11 programs contain

specific special incentives for Balanced Growth participating communities.

Red: extra points on applications

Blue: special consideration in application process

Green: percentage point discounts

There are 20 additional state programs that have been proposed to include special incentives.

Statewide BLLUP Program 2010+ Year

• Steering Committee – project oversight• Advisory Group – broad review of BLLUP document• Special Advisors – detailed review and update of

BLLUP document• Broad Strategy –conduct interviews in Ohio regions

– how can we support?• Message and Materials Development – statewide

relevance• Ohio Regions Strategies – identify local providers in

each region and needed support for their missions• Network Development – statewide network of

providers and others to provide support, education, training, materials, message

• Ongoing case study and workshop development


Review of the BLLUP Documents:Charge to the Advisory Group• Offer advice on updating the BLLUP

recommendations, to accommodate:- Expansion to statewide application- Accommodate knowledge and economic changes in the last 6-8 years- Accommodate redevelopment and urban issues
