Important AdminLockers:Year 7, 8 and 9 students must keep

their bags in lockers (don’t take your bag to your class)

Keep your padlock locked at all times ($20 replacement fee if it is lost)

It is your responsibility to keep your allocated locker clean and tidy (don’t swap lockers)

Important AdminPersonal Digital Devices:Your PDD (laptop, macbook, iPad,

etc) is your responsibility.Please ensure that it is charged for

each lesson, or that you have your power adapter with you. Be smart – charge it when you can (don’t leave it to LS4)

Consequences for having Chewing gum at school are very severe. This is because of the damage that chewing gum causes to property.Students found with gum at school will receive a $20 fine (money goes directly to missions) and will be required to do a day of community service. This is usually done on the student free day of the beginning of each term or the final student-free day of the year.There will be amnesty bins at the front gate when coming into school, so there is no excuse.

It is important to understand that the taking of photos of other students or

film footage, without the express permission of that

student, is an illegal act.

Any item that is illegal or considered potentially

harmful is a banned item at school.

The school reserves the right to suspend

any student who brings a banned item

to school or receives a banned item from another student at

school.

Students need to know that if they use an image with the school uniform in it - it means that we will be potentially interested in anything on that page - directly linked or otherwise.

Students also need to know that they cannot use the school logo anywhere without permission.

Social Networking Sites

What you say online is never completely private.

In 2010 a number of students were expelled for cyber-harassment.

NBCS views any negative interactions online, between students at the school, as an extension of the playground because they damage relationships within the school community.

Report cyber-bullying immediately and make sure that copies of inappropriate messages, posts, pictures, comments are kept and printed.

Inform parents and the school.

Think Carefully

Once put on the internet, it is permanent.Your profile will be accessed by prospective employers in the future.

A big question to ask: What does your digital footprint look like now and what will it look like in 4-5 yrs, when you start looking for work.

Harassment Issues

BULLYING CAN INCLUDE:

Step 1In response to an official complaint, if some level of harassment is deemed as likely to have occurred but specific responsibilities in the incident are uncertain, a PRELIMINARY WARNING will be conveyed.

Step 2In response to a formal complaint from parent, student or teacher, regarding an incident or incidents that could be deemed as part of some sort of harassment, an investigation is undertaken and if, in the minds of the school staff, the evidence justifies it, a FORMAL WARNING along with a resolution plan is put in place.

Step 3If a student continues with the harassment, discusses matters involved in the incident with other students, including raising the original issue again, or is involved in another incident of harassment, the student will be REMOVED FROM ALL CLASSES or SUSPENDED FROM SCHOOL until the resolution process can take place.

Step 4EXTENDED SUSPENSION FROM SCHOOL. It will need to be determined what the most suitable long-term management strategy will be. If the student is permitted to return to school, it will be under strict probationary guidelines.There is a significant likelihood that termination of enrolment is the most appropriate option at this step.

If you want to make an official complaint, about harassment towards

you or on behalf of another student who is being harassed:

Speak with your Team Leader or any teacher that you feel comfortable

speaking to.

Whatever you do, do not remain silent about the issue. The main reason that

harassment continues is because of the silence of the victims and witnesses of

harassment.
