HISD Board of Education Trustees are scheduling meetings in their respective districts to discuss the district’s 2018-2019 budget deficit. Meetings may also address the difficult choices the district faces regarding improvement required campuses, HB 1842, and SB 1882. Questions from the audience are welcome. These shirts will be worn for our fabulous Bush Olympiad and Family Picnic on April 13 th . All students will need a laundered white t-shirt in order to participate. Please put your student’s name inside the neck of the shirt using a permanent marker. Enclose the shirt in a zip-loc bag in case we need to send it home to dry. Each grade level will be allocated a different color: pre-k – royal blue, kindergarten – sunshine orange, first grade – Kelly green, second grade – red and blue, third grade – yellow and red, fourth grade – blue and fuchsia (neon pink), and fifth grade - any or all of the colors listed. Donations of RIT dye in these colors would be appreciated! The shirts will become part of the dress code starting May 17 th . If you are an HISD-approved volunteer, come and help on your child’s art day. However, due to limited space and safety concerns, please do not plan to bring siblings! Please check your child’s ancillary schedule and plan on joining us to tie-dye! ********************************* SPRING IS IN THE AIR Next week is a great time to refresh and recharge in preparation for the final months of the school year. PRE- K LOTTERY Ms. Rose will hold a PK Lottery Information session on Monday, April 2, from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. She will explain the lottery/registration process in detail, hand out the PK registration packets for Bush - zoned students, and share the important PK lottery dates. *All dates are subject to change. *

at Movie Night! As Mother Nature blessed us with a wonderful evening, attendance was far higher than pre-sales had indicated. Thank you to all the families for their patience as we waited for more food to be delivered and thank you to all of our volunteers for their hard work!

UIL On Saturday, March 3, more than 30 of our Bush students participated in the second UIL competition of the school year at Waltrip High School. The turnout made HISD UIL history as it was the largest tournament to date – over 1200 students from 46 schools all over HISD participated! Our students did so well that we came in 2ndplace as a school team. Considering we had contestants in only 8 of the 17 categories of competition, 2nd place is absolutely INCREDIBLE!
