Environmental Protection Specialist - Environmental Division of the Navy Public Works Center. Managed and implemented the Navy Public Works Center’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit, the industrial waste permit, their metal finishing shop permit, and various other permits. Supervised contract negotiations related to environmental issues between Navy Public Works Center and outside ship repair contractors. Performed inspections of the Navy Public Works Center dry dock. Wrote quarterly reports on pollution monitoring activities. Performed analysis of bay water in the vicinity of the dry dock to assess impact of the ship repair activities on water quality. Wrote articles and presentations on environmental topics. Interacted with a variety of city, state and federal officials.
