Technology Awareness Programme

The Technology Awareness Programme was put together to help young people develop skills to create digital content and not just be consumers of it.

Further information, help and resources are available here:

The Robots

The robots we use are 4Tronix Initios with Arduino computers. They cost about £110 each and come as a self-assembly kit.

We get them from here:

http://www.4tronix.co.uk/store

There are lots of alternative robots available from many vendors at a variety of prices, or you can build your own from components. There are loads of projects and ideas published on the internet for doing all sorts of things.

The Computer

The computer we are using is called an Arduino. They are cheap and simple computers but very versatile.

We program them from laptops using a free Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and a language called C.

C is one of the most widely used programming languages. Many other languages are based on C, such as Java (Android) and Objective-C (iOS).
