Barnes International’s latest CPV 5.5 module (June 2012) for MasterCard Card Validation
The MasterCard CPV 5.5 module complements the existing Card Validation Test Tools, the
CAT3000v3 and CPT3000v3, to provide rigorous Card Validation and the best preparation for the
formal Certification process by MasterCard Worldwide. The CPV specifications are administered by
MasterCard Worldwide and the CPV 5.5 module is qualified by MasterCard to test to the latest
version of the Personalization Validation Tool Release 2012 Requirements version 5.5 April 2012
specifications. It is the most up to date such tool available today.
The CPV 5.5 module is part of an ongoing development program for the CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3,
the best selling Card Personalisation Validation Tools employed by Banks, Card Manufacturers,
Personalisation Bureaux and Test Labs worldwide. The optional CPV 5.5 module is available to
existing and new users of the CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3 Test Tools to allow them to use tests
specified by MasterCard Worldwide to pre-validate their M/Chip and PayPass™ cards prior to
Certification.
The CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3 are the latest version of Barnes’ Personalisation Validation Tool
(PVT), originally launched in 1999. They incorporate many useful features and enhancements
suggested by its worldwide customer base which have been added to the latest version of its most
popular CPT series test tool. It is the quickest test tool of its type available and its thoroughness is
second to none.
CPV Module v5.5 runs MasterCard card certification scripts in strict accordance with:

The CPV module runs as a separate module on the CPT3000v3CL and CAT3000v3CL platforms (s/w
version 3.33; EMV scripts 19) and may co-exist with other modules such as Host Simulation
(Including HSM).

Functionality Overview:
ICS Selection, using clear drop down options is followed by a rapid card test generating a Results
Instant Result Summary showing a PASS, or in the case of FAIL, the Error or Observation Codes and
Comments on the MasterCard CPV Tests which caused the failure. Test ID file name created.
Tabs provide access to Details Tree, Engineering Log and Report.
The detailed Results Tree and Engineering Log enable analysis and clear guidance for all users.
