05.09.2012

Teachers Day Celebration- Students from

7th and 8th standard had an opportunity to

become teachers for a day. Picnic for teachers &

staff was held at „Ravines‟. All relished breakfast

and lunch provided there. Dance and trekking was

enjoyed by all the teachers.

International World Peace Day Celebration – KG Section

students celebrated “World Peace Day”. Children and

teachers dressed up in white clothes. „A peace rally‟

was taken out by the teachers and the students.

KG students visited Laxmi Vilas Palace for

“Ganesh Darshan” as a part of fieldtrip.

Children saw the beautiful Laxmi Vilas Palace.

Students were also explained about the palace,

the late King Sayajirao Gaekwak & the Queen.

Rajasthani katputli show - A Katputli show was

organized for KG section students. Children enjoyed the

drama, dance and the story shown through the use of

katpytli.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration : KG Section

students celebrated “Ganesh Festival” with great

enthusiasm & pomp. Children came to school in

colourful dress. KG section teachers performed a

drama on “Story of Ganesha”. Our UKG

students presented a dance performance on the song of

ganesha. It was followed by Aarti & prasad was distributed to

all the students.

Activities, Science Experience, Concepts & Fieldtrips

04.09.2012 Students of LKG got the first hand experience of blowing bubbles with soapy

water.

Playgroup students experienced the sounds of various things like

whistle, khanjari and dhol as a part of their science experience

of sound. They were able to discriminate between different

sounds.

14.09.2012 UKG student were shown the demonstration of sponge absorbs of water and

thermocol does not absorb water as a part of their science experience.

17.09.2012

LKG & UKG students were taken to the medicinal garden and there they

experienced how the touch-me-not plant reacts to our action. It closes it

leaves when we touch them.

As part of the project „Animals‟, UKG students had an opportunity to see various

colourful fishes & snail in the aquarium kept in our school. The students and

teacher discussed about water animals and their food habits.

Primary Section Workshop

7/9/2012 A workshop on “Effective Presentation and Communication Skills” was organized at

New Era School. Two students Ma. Rahul Rathod and Ma. Deep Shah of Std VIII

attended the workshop conducted by NCSC.

Shree Awards at „Bal Bhavan Society‟. The following children participated in the

Forty nine students of V-VII participated in the “Cyber Olympiad Exam” organized by

the „Unified Cyber Olympiad’ held at BHS ONGC.

Two students, Ma. Anshul Singh of class VI A and Ma.Amit Baria of Std VII B,

participated in the “Wild Wisdom Quiz” held at the „Community Science Centre‟

Subhanpura organized by the WWF, India.

Eight students participated in the Patriotic Song Competition, organized by the

„Bhartiya Vikas Parishad‟ at Ambe Vidyalaya. Our children were awarded the

consolation prize.

Twenty one students of Std V-VIII appeared in the “Bharat Ko Jano” exam organized

by the „Bhartiya Vikas Parishad’ held at BHS Danteshwar. We are glad to inform that

three students, Ms. Satakshi Kumar (VII B), Veer Shah (VIII B) and Satchit Desai

(VIII B) have cleared the 1st level and will appear for the 2nd level.

We are glad to inform you that our school is participating in the “Tree Garden Award”

Competition organized by the „Community Science Centre, Vadodara‟. Saplings of

trees with medicinal value and economical value were planted. A group of students

under the supervision and guidance of the teachers maintain the garden.

C.A Activities

3/9/2012

A “Group Dance” Competition was organized for the students of

Std III and IV. The young dancers who danced to

international tunes/ songs spellbound the audience. The

students of Std III who presented the Fan Dance from Japan

and students of Std IV who danced to a Brazilian tune were

adjudged the winners.

The students of Std I & II took part in the “Group Dance

competition.” The theme for the dance competition was Indian

Folk Dances. The children put in enthralling performances. The

winners of the competition were the Students of Std I who

presented a Punjabi folk dance. The students who presented a

Marathi Kohli Dance were awarded the consolation prize. The

students of II who performed a Garhwali Dance were

adjudged the winners while the students who performed a

Bengali folk dance were awarded the consolation prize.

A “Hindi Poem Recitation” competition was organized for the

children of Std V-VIII. The theme for the poem for Std V-

VI was „Mata-Pita‟ and „Rashtra‟ for the students of VII

–VIII. The children recited many soulful poems and the

competition was stiff. The following students were a step

I.S.A Activities

6/9/2012

The students of V & VII participated in the final round of

“Debate Competition”. The topic for the debate was “ Is war

necessary for peace”. The children expressed their view for

or against the topic with convection and confidence. The

following students excelled in the competition:

On the occasion of “ International

Peace Day” an exhibition on “Evils of

War” was organized and a “Peace

Rally” was taken out by the

students of Std VI – VIII. The Chief

guest Mr. S.K Das, ED Basin Manager, addressed the students and called upon

them to be “ Messengers of peace”. The Guest of Honour Mr. Dilip Das, Corporate

affairs and Communication Manager, ONGC and Mr. Nitin Mehta, President

BLCET, appreciated the artistic work of children on display. Mr. S.K Das flagged off

the rally at 8:45 a.m. The rally that began from BHS ONGC, went over Bhavans

Circle to Spandan Circle. The students staged a “Street Play” at Baroda Dairy.

A “Fancy Dress Competition” was organized for the students of Std I

and II. The theme for the show was „International Puppets‟. The

children came dressed in colourful dresses and put up an

enthralling show. The judge Ms. Nivedita Mulay Branch Manager

German Company „Schenker India PVT Ltd.‟, was very impressed

by the children‟s performance. The following students

were adjudged winners:

Celebrations 5/9/2012 “Teacher’s Day” was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The

headgirl, Ms. Vidita Shah, addressed the assembly and paid a

tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan, whose birthday is celebrated as „

Teacher‟s Day‟.The head boy Ma. Rahul Pillai paid a tribute to

“Swami Vivekanand” a teacher par excellence. Many other students

expressed their love and gratitude towards the teachers through

heart-warming Poems and Speeches.

The student teachers engaged classes and managed the school

thereby exhibiting their managerial and leadership skills. A

Staff picnic to “The Ravines” an adventure sport hub, was

organized by the PTA. The principal and teachers had a

field day attempting the various activities like rope

climbing, fire fox etc.

A ten day long celebration began with “

Ganpati Sthapana” on September 19, 2012.

The Day School students put up a small

programm in honour of the Supreme

Creator. Aarti was performed daily with a

small dance performance by the students in

praise and honour of the Lord. Our school was honoured by

enthusiasm. The students staged a Drama on “ Lord Ganesha”. It was an

enthralling performance, Bravo!

Sports 15/9/2012 The “State Level Baseball tournament” for Boys & Girls was held at Surat. The

following students represented our school at the tournament and performed well.

Ms.Prachi & Ms. Nidhi Patel both of Std VII were part of the Girls team and Ma.

Yashil Bhatt and Ma.Meet Chotai of Std VIII represented the school in the Boys

team.

Rajpipla. Our students put up a very good performance. They Were: Ma. Dhruv

Bhatia ( IV C), Ma. Pariket Pansara ( VB), Ma. Bhavya Marfatia ( IB), Ma. Pratham

Vyas ( II C), Ms. Astha Surve (IV C) & Ms. Ria Sharma (III C). We are happy to

announce that Ma. Dhruv Bhatia and Ms. Ria Sharma who secured the 1st & 3rd

position respectively at the State Level have been selected for the Nationals.

Anand. Seven boys and five girls represented our school in the tournament. They

are: Ma. Meet Chotai, Ma. Rushil Naiyi, Ma. Deep Shah, Ma. Dhruv Patel. Ma.

Pradyuman Singh, Ms. Bansari Dalwadi, Ms. Rishita Parmar, Ms. Vrunda Shah,

Ms. Vrunda Baria, Ms. Maitreyi. Ms. Vrunda Baria has been selected for the

National Level. Congrats….!!!!

Common Activities 1/9/2012 The Principal and teachers of BHS ONGC attended a lecture on “Excellence in

Education” by G. Narayana at BHS Alkapuri. “ Guruji” through his lecture

emphasized upon “the role of a teacher plays in a student‟s life” and stressed upon

the need for dedication, affection and understanding. He also emphasized the need

for a coordinated effort of administrators, teachers and parents for the betterment of

the students.

22/9/2012 The annual “General Body Meeting” was held in the

Hockey ground at BHS ONGC.Ms. Alpana Mathur,

President PTA, welcomed the parents and expressed her

hope for their support in future too. The meeting began

with a short prayer followed by a dance by the girls from

the Primary Section in praise of the Lord Almighty. Mr.

Parth Chandratre presented the Financial Statement for

the year 2011-12. Mr. Parag Parmar briefed the

gathering about the activities undertaken by the PTA. Ms.

Rizwana enlisted the proposed activities for the current year.

The students who have excelled in sports were honoured with

“Awards of Excellence”. The Principal, Ms. Alpana Mathur, also

addressed the valuable suggestions made by the parents.

28/9/2012 Shri P.S. Patel, Mr. Mayur Swadia, Ms. Promila Zalpuri & Dr. S. Iyengar visited our

school and met the teachers, to take the feedback about the Mentor – mentee system

introduced recently.
