Happy 2018 To You All ! This Year Is Going To Be The Biggest Year The Fenlanders Have Ever Had ! More rides of every conceivable type from short couple of hours to full on long distance touring rides and everything in between. The biggest East of England Fenlanders Rally , our 26th, with a bigger site, a bigger budget and a bigger attendance plus online booking this year to make ticket buying a breeze. Next up on the calendar we have our Winter Ball (see booking form on website) This is a wonderful night to bring everyone together in a non riding social setting, where new members can come and make friends in a non riding environment. So come on don’t be shy and get those tickets bought now ! The end of January is the HOG Chapter Directors and Dealer Meeting which this year sees us in London for a weekend of talks and presentations designed to find out what HOG members can look forward to and exchange ideas for the future and your greater enjoyment as HOG members both nationally and internationally. If you have anything HOG related to suggest then please get in touch and I’ll do my best to get it tabled for you. I hope that you dodge this Australian Flu that’s been going around - it’s not great I can tell you! I also hope the Santa bought you everything you wanted. I received some wonderful presents and thank you too for all of your cards and greetings. The shortest day has passed so it’s all onward and upward from here ! Remember these words too please .... we all pay our dues to be members of a Chapter. Be more than that, be a part of a 300 strong group of friends.... Be a Fenlander! See you all at the February meeting if not before ! Take care of yourselves and each other !

Making the Headlines things the newspapers didn’t quite mean to say
Dealer Principal & Treasurers Report
Hi All, Dick and I have closed the 2017 Accounts off and sent the return to HOG UK. I’ve also signed the Chapter Accounts off in my role as Dealer Principal, and we have completed the Annual Chapter Charter Renewal administration. So, 2017 is put to bed and onto 2018. We start the year with the accounts in a good condition and once again we will be able to hold one of, if not the best HOG Chapter Rallies in the UK, which is of course the 26th Fenlanders HOG East of England Rally in July. And for the first time ever tickets are available to buy online. As a Chapter we have £867.04 in the Charity Pot already so we’re off to a flying start. This years’ official Fenlanders Chapter Charity is once again the very worthy East Anglian Air Ambulance. It’s probably worth mentioning how we raise our charity money. Firstly, at each Monthly Meeting we hold a Raffle, with half of the takings go to the Charity Pot. Some of the Christmas Parties raised money via a Raffle too. As a Dealer we s ponsor gifts such as those at the East of England Rally, again sold via a Raffle. Finally, again as a Dealer, at each Shop Event we buy the food and the Chapter very kindly arrange for it to be prepared and sold, with all of the taking going, again to the Chapter Charity Pot. So next time you have the chance to purchase some raffle tickets or partake of a Burger at one of the Shop Events, please give generously. Buy that extra strip of tickets (or, even Burger ) and you can rest assured that the monies raised go to a great cause. On to things happening at the Shop now, and we have our first event of 2018 which is our Ladies Night (all welcome) on Thursday 8th February from 18.45 – 21.00hrs . We’ll have the new Softail Range and updated Tourers to see, some great Offers on the last couple of 17MY Bikes and up to 20% Off Selected Clothing. Jon out Senior Tech will be holding Technical talks throughout the evening AND you will have a chance to buy a Sportster 883 Low or Iron at the pre increase price (saving £900) whilst stocks last.
Dealer Principal & Treasurers Report
A big thank you to all who took the time to complete the recent survey. We’ll be publishing the results in the next couple of newsletters. The overall feedback seems to be that most people are happy with what the Committee and Road Crew are doing, which I think is fantastic as the guys on the Committee and Road Crew work so hard to make our bike time so full of great stuff to do. You’ll see that we’ve added some longer distance and overnight rides, some via country lanes, some via main A roads as we have requests for both, and added new as well as old favourites rides too, so hopefully something for everyone. Please remember this is your club and if you would like to suggest a run/ destination or better still, can help arrange a ride or event, please see any of the Committee or Road Crew or pop into Newmarket H-D anytime to see Richard, the more the merrier! If you’ve been on the Chapter website recently, you will have seen that we as a dealership are currently updating our database. We do this to ensure that we have your correct contact details and preferences so you get the very latest News, Offers and Events listings along with Service and MOT reminders etc. So, could I ask that you help us, and take five minutes to complete our online form. In March we will have our Open House, April will see our now famous Birthday Party, May the first of our Two Poker Runs and so on, lot’s happening so please check out the lindhd.co.uk website for more details. If you are on the Chapter Facebook Page or have seen the Google Calendar (which populates the website) you’ll see that we have been busy loading all of the Chapter Rides and Events along with the Shop Events, both on and off-site. We still have more to add and I have no doubt that some dates will change as we go through the year, but please take the time to check out the schedule, it’s going to be a busy year!

Hi All, First of all a Happy New Year to you, and hope you had a great break and relaxing time. As I write this even now the days are drawing out and I know that you’ll be “chomping at the bit” to get riding again but in the meantime we have some events down at the shop to keep going until the season starts. As you can see in the event schedule, our first up is the Ladies night which is on 8th February. We will have a technical presentation done by Jon, questions and answers, a clothing and helmet presentation, focus on the all-new 2018 Softail range and Tourer Updates plus the full 115th Clothing ranges. Also some deals on Bikes and gifts for upcoming Valentine’s day. And obviously light refreshments. Moving on, also in February the Official HOG Chapter Mileage Challenge starts, which this year is on the Saturday the 24th of Feb. Your mileage also from the last years close in November counts towards your 2018 total. Also, this time I am involving our dear friend Alan Moss, who will be helping me to administer the totals, so watch this space for more info next time you hear from me. Don’t forget if you are in the Chapter Mileage Challenge, you are also by default logging miles individually on HOG.com and if you set up a log in you will be able to see each milestone you pass and get pins and patches for doing this. See me for more details. As you are probably aware we also have had a few price alterations on new Sportster Lows and Irons, so if you are in the market, now really is the time to buy one. Again ask me for details. Buy a 2018 Iron or Low 883 at 2017 prices and beat the £900 price increase whilst the offer and stocks last. Currently they start at just £7995 for bikes in stock and we have all the colours! In service our winter labour rate saving you 20% is still on until 14th Feb. So if you are thinking of a service or accessories, get your bike booked in to our service department, call Dave or Andy on 01638 664455. There are plenty of events planned for the new year ahead, but we are always searching and listening to any new ideas that you may have please forward them to the committee or myself and we’ll be back to you. How to Access The Riding Calendar On Your Google Calendar
You can only add a calendar using a link if the other person's calendar is public. Open Google Calendar. You can only add a calendar using a link from a computer, not the app.
Next to "Other calendars" on the left, click the Down arrow
Select Add by URL.
Enter the following address
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/webmaster%40fenlandershog.co.uk/public/basic.ics
Click Add Calendar. The calendar will appear on the left side under "Other calendars." Note: It might take up to 12 hours for changes to show in your Google Calendar.
1. Go to Settings and choose Accounts & Passwords
2. At Accounts & Passwords Choose Add Account
3. At Add Account choose Other
4. At Other choose Add Subscribed Calendar

Additional information One Day Dun 2018 : HARLEY DAVIDSON A unique Dawn to Dusk Challenge to ride from Coast to Coast in one day from Lowestoft to Lands End JUNE 23th 2018 Open to all Harley Riders and their passengers. The challenge is to set off from Ness Point in Lowestoft, and using your own route visit the four passport checkpoints, to reach Lands End before dusk the same day. There will be a programme of social events to accompany the ‘One Day Run’ and all entrants will receive a specially designed tee shirt. Those who complete the challenge successfully will receive a commemorative embroidered badge.
