Barynya: Russian Folk Music & Dance

Sunday, December 4, 2PM World-renowned Russian folk ensemble Barynya will present Russian, Ukrainian, Jewish and Gypsy Roma traditional dancing, music, songs, and virtuoso performances on instruments including the balalaika and garmoshka. Enjoy an afternoon of fun for the whole family!

Mystery Author Panel to Highlight Jewish Book Month Wednesday, November 9, at 7PM

Jewish Noir is a collection of new stories which explore the Holocaust and its long-term effects on subsequent generations, anti-Semitism in the mid- and late-twentieth-century United States, and the dark side of the Diaspora. Author Kenneth Wishnia will moderate a panel of contributing writers, including Michele Lang and Steven Wishnia. Bestselling author Kenneth Wishnia’s other books in-clude The Fifth Servant, a Jewish Press Best Mystery of the Year. Join us for a wonderful evening fea-turing a festive Nosh Reception, Book sale and signing.

Alyson Richman, international best-selling author of The Lost Wife, will visit Peninsula Library to discuss her most recent novel, The Velvet Hours. In her new book, Richman develops an enthralling saga of two women—alternating between the late 1800s and 1930s—based on an actual Paris apartment. Fans of The Nightingale and WW II novels will be enthralled and delighted. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing by the author.
