BLDCC CWI Exam Prep Course

Base Line Data Career Center offers an 80 hour course to prepare you for the CWI examination. We offer the CWI course 11

times a year as a 4 week night and a 2 week day course. We encourage our students to take advantage of the opportunity to

attend either or both class times during the scheduled course month, as well as weekend lab time at no additional cost. The

cost of the complete 80 hr. course is $1,875.00 and includes study guides and material to prepare you for the exam. The

complete list of course books and study materials is included as an attachment along with the rate sheet and course outline.

With full payment of course, we can mail your course material/books to you for an additional $30.00 charge to cover 2 day

shipping and you can begin preparing and studying for your exam. We have seen our highest pass rates from students that

prepare by registering for the course early and have worked thru the many practice exams and study guides included in your

study packet.

You will be required to have your own API 1104 code book bound hardcopy to be used during the actual exam and this is not

included in the cost of the course. If you do not have your own current 21st Edition 1104 Pipeline code, we can provide you

with a list of approved vendors or they can be purchased thru us and added on to the book package for an additional $300.00.

Base Line Data Career Center CWI Prep Course

Base Line Data Career Center will be offering eleven opportunities for CWI applicants to test in 2020. All AWS scheduled

Part B exam dates will take place at our training facility in Portland, TX. The course format below offers the opportunity for

students to acquire training during both the day time and night time courses if your schedule allows. When registering for the

course please specify if you will be arriving in town early to take advantage of the four week night course or you will just be

available for the two weeks of training.

Base Line Data Career Center Course format is as follows:

80 hr. 4 Week Night course / 5 pm – 8 pm ( Monday thru Friday )

welder qualifications and production welding by using standard measurement tools, visual inspection, and

documents

found in the Book of Exhibits. Acceptability is based upon the information contained in this Book of

13 Practice exams covering the practical Part B exam (50 questions each) & BLD Book of Exhibits. Exhibit

book contains examples of various documents and photos including but not limited to WPS’s, PQR’s WQTR’s,

heat treat charts, and NDE methods. Neither the AWS test specimens nor the AWS Book of Exhibits are

available for review prior to the examination, this is our course version of the Exhibit book to better prepare

you.

This course book has been created to help better understand the layout of the Specification B Booklet and

help you to navigate thru the sections. A guide to using the measuring tools with the weld replicas will
