Depth of Field refers to the degree to which objects in frontof, or behind your focus point are also in focus

Depth of Field (DoF)

DoF is a function of the aperture settings

small apertures (f11 and smaller) give you greater depth of

field--> objects in front of and behind the focus point appearsharp

wide apertures (f2.8 and wider) give you little to no depth of

field--> objects in front of and behind the focus point appear

blurredintermediate apertures (f4-f8) give you some depth of field,

but not enough to show focus throughout the picture, and

not little enough to give you a very blurry

background/foreground, either
