    INTRODUCTION TO MOSFET SCALING

    The lateral dimensions and interconnect of the IC are reduced.

    This reduction in size is known as Scaling .

    Minimum feature size is the smallest size of the IC(gate length or

    the interconnect).

    Minimum feature size has shrunk over the time of several years.

    As a result the number of transistors on the IC has increased a lot
