News / Information It was lovely to welcome back the children and their families last week. The nation may be in Lockdown but thankfully our children are able to enjoy and learn alongside their friends. The children are already excited about our topic and are also making great strides in their phonic awareness. Although I am not setting specific homework this term, I have been steadily uploading phonic games, activities and presentations onto TEAMS. I have had a few lovely images of work sent to me, which is fab as I can return feedback and praise. Please do visit TEAMs and take a look at what is available. The children will continue practising the skill of sound-talking What are we learning this week: We will start the week with a lovely book ‘Everything you need for a Tree House’. The children will explore the lyrical words and beautiful images to conjure up their own designs for a treehouse. We are beginning to encourage the children to write simple labels, using sound-talking to support their spellings. In maths we are exploring and investigating the number 5. We will use a range of resources to support our understanding of ‘the fiveness of five!’ The children are also counting up to and back from 10 and discovering that numbers can be made up from two i.e. 2 bricks and 2 bricks will make 4. News / InformationIt was lovely to welcome back the children and their families last week. The children are already excited about our topic and are also making great strides in their phonic awareness. Although I am not setting specific homework this term, I have been steadily uploading phonic games, activities and presentations onto TEAMS. On Monday and Friday we are visiting Mike’s Meadow to research ‘Trees’. The children will make ‘Tree faces’ using clay, take bark and leaf rubbings and discover what might live in the canopy of a tree!

During our child initiated and creative times the children will be inspired by trees and treehouses. The children will have on offer junk modelling materials, construction resources and art materials to imagine and build their own treehouses!
