• Students will convert fractions to decimals, decimals to fractions, decimals to percents, and percents to decimals
• Students will define and calculate baseball batting averages and hitting percentages.
• Students will research and create baseball cards.
Microsoft Word and Internet ExplorerDistance learning tools (television, camera)
After completing a unit on fractions and decimals, students apply their knowledge to study the game of baseball. They compute batting averages and hitting percentages and participate in a simulated baseball game through a distance learning videoconference with The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Students then create their own baseball cards.
