Bawe lies 5 miles west of Zanzibar’sStone Town, on the west coast ofZanzibar.

Getting there

Bawe Island is accessed fromZanzibar Stone Town. From here youare transported to Bawe Island on acomfortable 25 minute ride bywooden dhow (boat).

Bawe Tropical Island canaccommodate up to 30 guests, andoffers the highest standards ofhospitality and facilities.

15 magnificent cottages are discretelyscattered along the beach line, all ofthem with panoramic views of theclear waters of the Indian Ocean,ensuring total privacy and seclusion.

The cottages, situated to make themfeel like a part of the surroundedlandscape, are built using traditionalmaterials and finished with thatchedroofs. Accommodation on Bawe iselegantly simple - there is no AC androoms enjoy a cool sea breeze whichcirculates through the living space.

The rooms are spacious, featuringmagnificent dhow-type bedsequipped with mosquito nets. Thetasteful interiors, known as los coloresdue to their warm combination ofsoft colors (greens, yellows, oranges,grape fruit) are elegantly decoratedand all rooms have ensuitebathrooms, double basins, twoal-fresco showers and a bathtub.

All cottages feature large woodenverandahs overlooking the ocean.Here you will enjoy total privacy anda chance to spend some private timeliving outdoors where thetemperature is ideal all year round.
