If you have any questions about equipmentoralarms,feelfreetoaskthenurse.Pleasetellthenurseifyoubringanyequipmentfromhome.
Cell Phones and Taking PicturesCellphonesareallowedinthehospital.Pleaseturntheringertovibrate.Pleasecheckwithyournursebeforetakinganypicturesorvideosinthehospital.Forprivacyandconfidentiality,takingpicturesorvideosofapatientisallowed only if the patient has said it is okay.
Communication about PatientsPleasechooseoneadulttobethe“primarysupportperson”forpatientupdates.Pleaseknowthatpatientneedsmaychangefromdaytodayorshifttoshift.Thesechangesmayaffectthedirectionsorinformationyougetfromyourhealthcareteam.Theprimarysupportpersonhelpskeepfamilyandfriendsuptodateonthepatient’scondition.Thisgivesthe nurse more time to care for your loved one. transport patients and equipment.•Pleasecheckwiththenursebeforebringinginfoodor
drinks for the patient.•Eachpatientisunique,sopleasetellyournurseifyouor
your loved one has special needs.•Forpatientsafety,ifyouareillorhavehadarecentillnessorfever,pleasewaituntilyouarewelltovisityourlovedone. You may visit once you have not had fever or other signsofillnessfor24hours.
•Tokeeppatientssafe,wemayscreenvisitorsforsignsofillness.
•Somepatientsareinisolationforpatientandvisitorsafety.TherewillbeaSTOPsignonthedoorifapatientisinisolation.Inthosecases,pleasecheckwiththenurseforinstructionsbeforegoingin.
•Pleasecleanyourhandsbeforeenteringandrightafterleavingthepatient’sroomtopreventspreadinggerms.Foamhandcleanerisattheentranceofeachroom.
