Think of you, think of your family, your friends. Is what you’re creating something they want, something they would use. Don’t think in terms of a website or an app, think of an entire connected experience. You use an app to do this, the company then receives your query, it’s then shown on a website etc etc. It’s a connected digital experience. Have some fun, there’s no wrong answer especially if you’re creating something for yourself.

We are seeking IBM’s help. We are embarking on a journey to take back what’s ours, to reclaim the popularity of the BROADBAND service spectrum.

We are interested to hear how IBM could help us on this journey.

Could you please read through the brief below and we will send a team over to your offices in Atlanta tomorrow and hear your views.

We want this to be built around the needs of the individual, we want this to be an extension of the current broadband experience.

We look forward to hearing what you have to say

-------------------------------------THE LANDSCAPE

We currently provide broadband service (internet/wifi, landline phone) and want to reclaim the market. We want to improve our service and better deliver our message to all generations. We need help in figuring out how to do so.

Our main aim, is to understand how we should reinvent ourselves to remain relevant. We would like to improve our service to reach a new audience while improving the experience of our current customers. The question is “how do we achieve this”?

Our question:We want to understand how users of broadband view our services we currently offer, what they think, and how we can adapt these to meet the evolving demands of our existing and new customers. What new services do we need to offer? Where are we failing and how can we pick ourselves back up?

Demographics: We provide our broadband service to everyone, individuals as well as businesses. But we are particularly interested in the youth of today(millennials). How do we inform these individuals on our service and most importantly, how do WE stand out from the rest? How do they want to experience and ultimately ‘consume’ broadband?

Things to consider: • What’s most important to these individuals when they use their

devices? • What problems or pain points do people experience in the

process of using our broadband connection? How can we improve our customer service? How can technology help solve these problems?

• Why would people want to use our product, service or ‘thing’ over other competing services?

• What is your big idea? What business need is it solving? • How can personal data be used responsibly in your proposal?• How have other industries been impacted and reacted to similar

challenges? • What future behaviors and developments will affect the

company and the services they offer?

-------------------------------------YOUR PROPOSAL COULD INCLUDE -

• A concise and considered articulation of your product, service or solution

• An explanation of the problem it’s solving and why you’re solving it

• The intended channel / multi channel approach and why you’ve chosen them

• Technical diagrams explaining (at a high level the various elements involved

• Near, medium and long term views • An element of your product or service prototyped (paper,

designs or working code ) • Anything that you think helps communicate your idea. There

aren’t any rules. We want to leave feeling excited

-------------------------------------A FINAL BLUEBERRY THOUGHT

• Always have the individual in mind when you’re creating anything.

• Think of you, think of your family, your friends. Is what you’re creating something they want, something they would use. The business case can always be worked out after, the hardest bit is getting people to care about your product through an emotional connection.

• Don’t think in terms of a website or an app, think of an entire connected experience. You use an app to do this, the company then receives your query, it’s then shown on a website etc etc. It’s a connected digital experience.

• Have some fun, there’s no wrong answer especially if you’re creating something for yourself.
