    BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus QuickrIntroduction

    The purpose of this reference guide is to provide BlackBerry TechnicalSupport representatives with information on troubleshooting issuesrelated to BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr.

    The BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr allows BlackBerrysmartphone users to do the following:

    Organize files and folders

    Email document links to colleagues

    Create folders, mark libraries as favorites, and sort libraries,

    folders, and files Preview, download and edit documents and files

    Log in to the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus

    Quickr 1. On the Home screen or in the appropriate folder, click theBlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr icon.

    2. Type the user name and password.

    3. Click Login .

    To log out of the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr, press theMenu key. Click Logout .

    These features are only available to users withproper permissions.

    Libraries and foldersLibraries contain the folders and files that can be uploaded and sharedwith colleagues. New libraries can only be created using IBM LotusQuickr on the computer. The following features are available inBlackBerry Client for IBM Lous Quickr:

    Library Details - View a library's description, author, creationdate and date the library was last modified.

    Recent Libraries - View recently visited libraries

    Favorite Libraries - View libraries and folders you previouslymarked as favorites, and navigate directly to items with asingle click

    Add as Favorite - Mark a library as a favorite

    Sort Libraries - Library contents, folders or files can be sortedby title, creation date, and the date when the library contents,files, or folder were last modified.

    Send email message - Send an email message to a libraryowner or folder owner

    Working with filesWhen using BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr to work with files,BlackBerry smartphone users can do the following:

    Preview a file

    Edit a file

    Download a file

    Upload a file

    Check in a file

    Check out a file

    Cancel a file checkout

    Replace a file

    Email a link to a file

    The BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickrautomatically tracks the 20 most recently visitedlibraries.

    Up to 20 libraries, and 20 folders can be stored asfavorites on the BlackBerry smartphone.

    Component Description

    BlackBerry Client for IBM LotusQuickr

    The BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr is the applicationthat provides access to the team collaboration and contentsharing features of IBM Lotus Quickr from BlackBerry

    smartphones. The BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickrcommunicates with the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy using the BlackBerry MDS ConnectionService which runs on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

    BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy

    The BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy isdesigned to optimize the data that travels between BlackBerrysmartphones and the IBM Lotus Quickr server. The BlackBerrySocial Networking Application Proxy communicates with theIBM Lotus Quickr server using APIs that are specific to IBMLotus Quickr.

    IBM Lotus Quickr server IBM Lotus Quickr is team collaboration and content sharingsoftware for organizations. The software runs on the IBMLotus Quickr server.

    Installation and initial setupPre-requisites

    Get the service configuration web address for IBM LotusQuickr formatted as http://:

    Port 22443 must be available on the Social NetworkingApplication Proxy server

    InstallationTo install the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr, complete thefollowing steps:

    1. Install the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy.

    2. Import IT policies into the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

    3. Allow trusted connections between the BlackBerry SocialNetworking Application Proxy and the BlackBerry MDSConnection Service.

    4. Distribute the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr to the

    BlackBerry smartphones in a user group.

    Post installationAfter installing the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy,verify that it is running, by completing the following steps:

    The server account used to install the BlackBerrySocial Networking Application Proxy must havepermission to create a service.

    The BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxycan run with other applications, but to optimize itsperformance it is recommended that it be installedon a dedicated server that does not run any otherapplications.

    TroubleshootingInitial troubleshooting

    For information on troubleshooting issues associated with theBlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr, visit www.blackberry.com/support and search lotus quickr .

    When troubleshooting a BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr issuethat is not documented in a knowledge base article, make sure to checkthe following:

    HTTP, HTTP verbose, and TLS logging are turned on in theBlackBerry MDS Connection Service logging settings

    Specific information is gathered, including information thatappears in the requested (or input) field and the returned

    result (or displayed) field

    The following information can also be retrieved while troubleshooting

    issues with the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr: BlackBerry Social Networking Proxy logs

    (snap_YYYYMMDD.log and snap_qkr_YYYYMMDD.txt)

    Troubleshooting the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy

    Error message Possible solution

    BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy is not running

    1. Check the status of the BlackBerry Social Networking ApplicationProxy by completing the following steps:

    1. Open Windows Services.

    2. Right-click BlackBerry SNAP for Quickr -V1.0.0.x. If the BlackBerry Social NetworkingApplication Proxy is not running, the status ofBlackBerry SNAPfor Quickr - V1.0.0.x is Stopped .

    3. To restart the BlackBerry Social NetworkingApplication Proxy, right-click BlackBerry SNAPfor Quickr - V1.0.0.x .

    4. Click Start .

    2. Check the log files to see which errors were logged that mightprevent the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy fromrunning. The log files are located in the subfolder in the defaultfolder C:\Program Files\Research InMotion\BlackBerry\SNAP\snap_tomcat\logs\YYYYMMDD

    CXF Service List page is notdisplayed

    Check that the proxy rules for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server do notoverride the hosts file configuration for the BlackBerry EnterpriseServer. If necessary, make the required changes to prevent the proxyrules from overriding the hosts file configuration.

    File extensions must match The BlackBerry smartphone user has attempted to replace a

    document with another version that has a different extension thanthe original. Correct the file extension and retry the request.

    Add Folder Failed The BlackBerry smartphone user has tried adding or deleting afolder within a library that has locked folders. If possible, correct thepermissions on the library, and reattempt the request.

    The BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrator has set an IT Policyto block access to the application or has not configured a server URLand prohibited the user from manually specifying the server URL onthe client. Specify the server URL within the IT Policy on theBlackBerry Enterprise Server or allow users to manually specify theserver information.

    Unable to Download File: An unknown or unexpected HTTP error was returned as a responseto a request for the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr client. This requires a review of the snap.log file to determine the cause ifthe additional information provided does not explain the problem.

    Favorite Folders are full The BlackBerry smartphone user has tried to add more than themaximum number of favorite folders (20).

    Favorite Libraries are full The BlackBerry smartphone user has tried to add more than themaximum number of favorite libraries (20).

    Incorrect login information. Youmay need to modify your serversettings or contact your systemadministrator.

    The BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy server does notcomplete the login operation successfully.

    Note: This is not the same as an incorrect credentials used error.

    This requires a review of the snap.log file to determine the cause.
