Request Caption/Transcript Services If you have a student in need of video captions/transcripts, please submit a detailed request to the Office of Educational Accessibility (OEA) at [email protected] or 757-683-4655. Your student may also complete the request form. Once documented with an Accommodation Letter, OEA forwards the request to Academic Technology Services (ATS). ATS works with you to retrieve your videos and will provide you with the finished files to post to Blackboard. The costs of caption/transcript files (SRTs) for these students is covered by OEA. This process applies to both face-to-face and online classes, unless the online course is developed at the Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT). If so, CLT coordinates captioning with ATS. If you are looking to caption/transcribe videos in general, for ADA and Section 508 accessibility compliance, please contact ATS directly at [email protected]. The vendor’s fee, $1.08 per minute, will be charged to your department.
