Cooperation
efficient Implementation
Excellence Impact Quality and efficiency of the
implementation• Clarity and pertinence of objectives
• Soundness of the concept
• Credibility of the methodology
• Extent that proposed work is ambitious,
has innovation potential, and is beyond
the state of the art
• Coverage of the value chain
• Impacts included in the topic:
• KPIs
• Social, economic and
environmental impacts
• Any other impacts
• Communication
• Exploitation and dissemination
(including IPR management)
• Extent to which consortium
contribution, including additional
investment, will help maximising
the impact of the action
• Coherence and effectiveness of
the work plan
• Complementarity of the
participants within the consortium
(if relevant)
• Appropriateness of the
management structures and
procedures
• Soundness of the business case
and business plan
• Readiness of the technology for
the implementation of the pilot
phase, demonstration or flagship
From main to subcriteria
Additional subcriteria for IAs
Tips to write a good proposal (1/2)
• Address all requirements in a clear and convincing manner– Topic specific requirements
– General requirements: introduction & table 3 with standard requirements (LCAs, economic viability check, preservation of biodiversity, compliance with legislation, complementarity with other projects, etc)
• Provide appropriate benchmarking (e.g when comparing performance of new bio-based products with fossil counterparts)
• Quantify objectives and impacts when relevant (e.g. reduction carbon footprint)
• Industry commitment: give clear explanations on consortium own contribution, both quantitative and qualitative
• Check the AWP 2020 glossary for correct definitions
How to write a good BBI JU proposal (2/2)
• Think like an evaluator and write for an evaluator
– Consider which are the evaluation criteria, and make sure youaddress all of them
– Make sure all the requested information is clear and convincing
– Structure the information in a coherent manner
– Avoid standard – non proposal specific statements (e.gCommunication activities)
– Stick to page limits (50p for CSAs, 70p for RIA/IA)
– Check the information is consistent across the proposal (e.g. timing of WPs)
– Ensure the role of all beneficiaries is clear
