Processing instructions for the printing process in the laserprinter

– To ensure that the labels do not become detached from the backing during the print process, the sheets must be inserted into the printer using the sheet feed function. Ensure during printing that the sheetfeed tray is positioned flat (even feed through the printer).

– The ejector flap on the other side of the printer must be open. Severalprint jobs in sequence or large print jobs can cause the printer tooverheat. We therefore recommend waiting at least 15 minutes beforestarting a subsequent print process with label sheets. This will gua-rantee optimum printout quality.

Pleuser® labels were developed specially for the outside and inside lettering of books and archives and meet the modern requirements oflibraries. These special labels have a plasticizer resistant paper, plasti-cizer-free adhesive and are pH-neutral. The high ageing resistance ofpaper, adhesive and paint were tested by the Chair of Paper Technologyand Mechanical Process Engineering (PMV) of the Technical UniversityDarmstadt.

– The film labels for laser printers comprise a thin polyester film and aresuitable for inscribing spine labels on most laser printers. The strongbond adhesive is characterized by outstanding UV and weathering re-sistance.

– The adhesive and polyester film are acid-free and ageing resistant.– In the case of film labels for laser printers, the colours are printed in

accordance with ekz specifications. This may result in slight colour discrepancies (within tolerance range).

How to use the reinforced covers for paperbacks

The sketch illustrates the parts of the protective cover to fit the spineand front and rear covers. Particular protection is afforded to the bin-ding cover of the brochure or paperback, not to the connection betweenthe book body and the binding.

– Measure the book and select the correct size of cover.– Place the prepared cover vertically and half opened on an even sur-

face. Slide the book into the folded cover until it rests against thespine.

– Press the prepared cover firmly against the book, avoiding any trap-ped air bubbles. Trim off any excess film at the edges using scissors ora guillotine if available.

– If possible place the book under pressure for 2 minutes.
