  • ACT ONE

PROLOGUE: A DIRT ROAD / VARIOUS LOCATIONS

In the darkness we hear GUN SHOTS building to rapid fire. A barrage of bullets striking metal, breaking glass... And then silence except for How Bout A Dance playing on a busted car radio.

On scrim: BIENVILLE PARISH, LOUISIANA - 1934

Through a haze of smoke and dust, a grey Ford Deluxe Sedan appears -- riddled with bullet holes, windows shattered, blood dripping down the open passenger door.

Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker are dead in the front seat. He sits behind the wheel with blood covering his face and her lifeless head on his shoulder.

On scrim: VARIOUS NEWSPAPER HEADLINES -- HAIL OF LEAD ENDS THE LIVES OF BARROW AND PARKER!

Out from the tragic tableau appears Young Bonnie (age 10) in a fashionable dark blue dress.
