Ducati V4R (2019 on) race switch kit. This switch is a direct replacement for the standard left hand multi-function switch assembly found on the Ducati V4R, it features all of the standard controls needed for a track bike in a billet machined aluminium body. But has none of the road bike functions such as headlights, turn signals, horn.

The kit includes

1 x left switch assembly 8B-07

1 x Right switch 3B-17 (Set-A) or 3BC-17 (Set-B)

1 x LIN Control module KT146

Each switch is IP67 sealed featuring gold contacts and connects to the bike via a ‘plug n play’ external control module via high temperature Raychem race wire. No modification of the bike wiring or steering stops are necessary

Your existing bike wiring loom simply plugs into our control module located near the ignition switch under the fuel tank cover. This also protects the bike wiring against crashing as it would not be damaged in the event of losing the left switch (handlebar) in a crash.

Controls are grouped ergonomically so the most important rider mode functions are close to the thumb in the lower section of the switch. The Lap-Set is located front and centre with the Pit Limiter located at the rear. This leaves the dash layout controls in the upper front section as these are not typically needed during performance riding FITTING NOTE / IMPORTANT – When installing this 8B-17 switch, tighten the upper M4 screw first to full tightness, This should close the upper body fully and leave no gap, then use the lower M4 screw to pinch tighten the switch on the bars. Handlebars from 22.2 down to 21.8 can be used.

Fitting instructions – 8B-07 left side

1. Remove the front fuel tank cover 2. Remove the ignition key lock cover panel 3. Remove the left side handlebar weight and rubber grip 4. Pull out the electrical connection from the standard switch block. This is just a snap fit, there is no latch to

release. 5. Use Ducati tool 887134967 or Bike Sport Developments tool BDD1734 to release the retaining clip and slide

the standard switch cluster off the handlebar. 6. Fit the new 8B-07 switch cluster to the handlebar. IMPORTANT : Tighten the upper M4 screw first to full

tightness, This should close the upper body fully and leave no gap, then use the lower M4 screw to pinch tighten the switch on the bars. Handlebars from 22.2 down to 21.8 can be used.

7. Route the wire following the clutch line and then route to the right side of the ignition switch as shown in the pictures

8. Re-route the standard switch connector back under the fuel tank cover and leave on the right side of the ignition switch

9. Plug the standard bike wiring (6 way min-block connector) into the KT146 control module and secure in place using the small cable tie we supply in the kit. There is a loop in the plastic body of the control module for this.

10. Plug in the white 8 way from the new switch cluster to the KT146 module 11. Leave the 2 way white connector with the yellow band disconnected for now. This will link up with the right

side 3B-17 or 3BC-17 right switch. 12. Re-fit the left handlebar grip and bar end weight.

Ducati V4R (2019 on) , (must be used in conjunction with 8B-07 left switch) The aluminium assembly has been designed ultra-slim and encompasses these waterproof switches:

Red , Stop/Run

Black , DPL (launch)

Green , Starter

PIT speed (moved to left side switch)

No modification of the bike wiring is necessary, this kit plugs directly into the connector of the standard loom.

The Pit speed limiter function is located on the rear of the left switch block 8B-07.

Fitting instructions – 3B-17 Right side 1. Remove the throttle twist grip assembly 2. Pull out the electrical connector from the side of the standard right switch ‘ snap fit’ 3. Use Ducati tool 887134967 or Bike Sport Developments tool BDD1734 to release the retaining clip and slide

the standard right switch cluster off the handlebar. 4. Fit the new race switch wiring and the original Ducati switch wiring back under the dummy fuel tank cover,

close to our KT146 LIN module and connect them together. We suggest you retain both together using a cable tie or over sleeving the assembly with shrink sleeve. This adds extra security against them coming apart in use. In this way the main wiring loom of the bike is not damaged during a crash.

5. Now connect the 2 way connectors with yellow bands from the left and right switch together, this wire is the pit limiter switch (moved from right to left)

6. Re-fit the ignition cover panels and fuel tank cover. 7. System can be verified as working simply by using the controls to navigate within the dashboard as normal 8. Note : If when turning ON the ignition you have the hazard warning lights flashing, re-check all connections. 9.

The aluminium assembly has been designed specifically for the V4 with ‘plug n play’ connectors and ergonomic adjustable mounts direct to the brake pump.

Mounting These ‘Type C’ switches mount directly onto our own brake pump clamp(s) and are adjustable left / right to suit the rider Three types of clamp are available A – 32mm in-line bolts (standard), switch mount locations are 13 or 22mm to the right of the pump centre line (unless otherwise specified, this is the clamp we will supply) B – 30mm offset bolts to suit Brembo XR brake pump N – 32mm in-line bolts, switch mount offset of 13.5mm to the left of the pump centre line. Suits Nissin race pump Specify clamp A, B or N at the time of ordering. Clamps are sold separately so there is no need to replace the switch if you change your brake pump.

IMPORTANT Tighten the UPPER bolt first to achieve metal

to metal contact, then use the lower bolt to clamp onto the handlebar

Fitting instructions – 3BC-17 Right side

1. Remove the throttle twist grip assembly 2. Pull out the electrical connector from the side of the standard right switch ‘ snap fit’ 3. Use Ducati tool 887134967 or Bike Sport Developments tool BDD1734 to release the retaining clip and slide

the standard right switch cluster off the handlebar. 4. Remove the standard brake clamp, two bolts 5. Fit the new brake clamp, ensuring it is fitted as per the arrows:

o Tighten the top bolt first, hand tight o Tighten the lower bolt next to hand tight o Tighten both to manufacturers torque settings starting with the top bolt first.

6. Fit the 3BC-17 switch pod to the new clamp with 2 x M5 cap screws. 7. Connect the new 3BC-17 switch wiring and the original Ducati switch wiring under the dummy

fuel tank cover, close to our KT146 LIN module and connect them together. We suggest you retain both together using a cable tie or over sleeving the assembly with shrink sleeve.
