society.

Make sure the victim has
friends or family to care for
them. Take the victim’s fears
seriously.
Cases should be prosecuted whenever
possible to stop this happening to
others.
Raise awareness in your community
about Human Traffi cking.
Don’t be tricked into leaving your
home.
Urgently report missing persons to the police.
Take any information that could help to trace the missing person.
If you are
traffi cked, stay
calm. Try to get to
a police station
or place of safety.
If the victim has been sexually assaulted
take them to a doctor urgently to get
treatment which could prevent HIV and to
collect evidence.
Keep evidence safe without washing it -
(like the clothes the victim was wearing).
Take the victim to a safe shelter for care and counseling.
