Location: If a quick escape to paradise is what you need, look no further than the oceanfront eco-luxury offering at Maca Bana Boutique Resort. Although near the airport, the resort still boasts all the perfect ingredients of a countryside retreat. A cluster of homely villas spread across a two-acre hillside is always the stand-out feature of a relaxing stroll along the captivating Magazine Beach.

Rooms: Seven one and two bedroom villas, aptly named after tropical fruits such as Rock-fig and Paw Paw create the perfect balance between Caribbean nostalgia and modern necessities, such as a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, solar powered hot tubs and reliable WiFi access. While you're snuggled in a cosy four-poster bed, you’ll rest with the reassurance that the paradisiacal vision in your dreams is just a short walk down the hill.

Location: It’s hard to miss the entrancing beam and Mediterranean-style architecture of Mount Cinnamon Resort. Whether you're peering out the window of a Cinnamon suite or sauntering through the manicured garden path from Grand Anse Beach, it’s undoubtedly a resort that cares about the surrounding environment, social sustainability and maintaining its Green Globe badge of honour.

Food: A Sunday staple for large groups of Grenadian families and friends is Aquarium Restaurant, situated on Magazine beach. Open six days a week from 10 am 'til you say when, revellers feast on a selection of fusion dishes inspired by West Indian and International cuisine while watching the waves lap against the shoreline.

Kered Recommends: If you’re travelling to Grenada during Lobster Season (September 1st - April 30th) follow these simple steps. Step 1: Secure your spot under a palm tree at the Beach Bar deck. Step 2: Let the sea breeze steal your thoughts. Step 3: Devourer a delicious Lobster Thermidor and wash it down with a fruity rum punch.

Rooms: Enjoying unhindered views of Grand Anse Beach lay villas and suites decked with retro, Mediterranean, contemporary and Caribbean accent pieces that set the resort apart from neighbouring properties. The unforgettable vibrancy of each room, down to the tones of ‘berry-red and bougainvillaea pink’ is enough to fill the void weeks after your trip.

Food: For laid-back, luxury beachfront dining, take a pleasant walk down to Savvy’s beach cabana. There you’ll find delicious West Indian and Caribbean lunch choices, such as the fresh catch of the day with a side of grilled breadfruit and melon salsa, which never disappoints.

Kered Recommends: The resort’s new Cinnamon Suites are simply lush! The hues of blue throughout this dream room compliment the panoramic window that shows off the splendour of Grand Anse Beach. Sleep with the curtains wide open, because there’s nothing quite like watching the pastel pink sunset go down in the evening and the heavenly moment the lustrous sun, sea and sand bounce light off the bright white walls in the morning.

Location: Overlooking the majestic Portici Beach and one of my favourites is Laluna - Grenada’s most romantic resort. The epitome of barefoot beach chic and luxury chilled living, it’s one of the most hypnotic locations on-island. What’s more, it’s the ultimate destination for lovers, intimate weddings and honeymooners. Don’t be alarmed by the suggestive statues stationed around the resort; they're all in the name of rekindling love and romance.

Rooms: The fourth wall of each cottage offers far-reaching views of the ocean. A blend of Balinese, Caribbean and Italian influences characterise the rich palette of the decor, which does a good job of coaxing you into a deep slumber.

Location: The journey through the meandering residential development of Egmont down to Petite Calivigny Bay is just the beginning of the relaxing and not too distant haven that is Le Phare Bleu Boutique Hotel & Marina. From the restaurant's compost project and recycled green bottle motifs to the owners being co-founders of the Pure Grenada Music Festival, for Le Phare Bleu being an eco-friendly boutique is not just an aspirational title, it’s a way of life.

Rooms: 14 extremely charming private villas enjoy views of a glistening beachfront and 60 berth marina. The lulling melody of palm trees swaying in the tropical

Food: It’s certainly a bonus that one of the owners is Italian as guests can enjoy the authentic taste of Italy at Laluna’s beachfront restaurant. Under a thatched-roof, dreamy candlelight, the finest Italian ingredients, and the allure of their illuminated pool at night, you’ll fall in love time and time again.

Kered Recommends:At 5.30 pm, charge your camera or smartphone, throw on something comfortable, order a cocktail, dust the sand off your feet and get comfy on the daybed lounge to witness one of the most marvellous sunsets on-island.

garden at night and the chirping wake up calls of the hummingbirds on the patio at dawn will certainly make you long for more nights than booked. Whether you choose to dine at the restaurant, cook in your villa or have a lazy swing on the daybed, you’ll be in a constant state of bliss.

Food: As a certified Island Girl, I couldn’t resist the slow roasted rack of ribs covered in a mouth-watering tamarind BBQ sauce. The ambience of the Deck Restaurant is enhanced by the shimmering lights from the yachts docked at the marina. Another notably glamourous fact is the partnership with Celebrity Chef Yvette LaCrette, the personal chef of supermodel Naomi Campbell and caterer for the likes of Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Mick Jagger, and Lenny Kravitz.

Kered Recommends: If the night is young and dinner hasn’t put you in a food coma, don’t miss out on live music onboard The Lightship. Formerly a fully functioning lightship built in 1900, Västra Banken is one of the most unique ways to be serenaded by the sounds of Grenada’s most talented musicians and artists.

Location: Less than a 30-minute drive from the airport, in the parish of Saint David, a pink structure stands out amidst a line of pristine palm trees on the grounds of La Sagesse Hotel, Restaurant & Beach Bar. The Manor House, which commands the attention of every visitor was built by the infamous Lord Brownlow, a cousin of Queen Elizabeth. After a turbulent past and abandonment, the current owners restored The Manor House and developed a Nature Centre, committing to offering visitors a raw but ravishing beachfront experience on one of the calmest crescent-shaped beaches on the island.

Rooms: The Manor House, Caribbean Cottages and The Ocean building make up 12 intimate rooms equipped with everything you need to switch off from the modern world. That’s right, no TV, radio or phone, just the therapeutic thrashing of the waves on the shoreline 30 feet away. The decor is simple and uncluttered, with only the bare essentials, which is all you need when a tropical paradise is on your doorstep.

Food: It doesn’t matter where you sit at this beach bar because you're bound to get the best view of the tranquil bay. There’s a delicious choice of West Indian and continental cuisine, but whatever you choose your tummy will thank you for nourishing it with fresh ingredients sourced from seven acres of organic farmland that offers a constant supply of local fruits, vegetables and spices.

Kered Recommends: Just be. Pull out a sunlounger, strategically place it under the branch of a palm tree, lay down and just allow yourself to be impressed by unspoilt nature.

Location: Located on the North Coast of Grenada in the parish of Saint Patrick, the picture perfect plot that surrounds Petite Anse Beachfront Cottages & Restaurant was discovered by owners Phillip and Annie while onboard their 55ft Oyster yacht ‘China Town’. It’s a heartwarming story to hear and it exemplifies their genuine love for Grenada and the land they now call home. Annie is devoted to supporting charitable causes, particularly those that support children in the local community. While Phillip participates in marathons and triathlons to raise funds to support the very same charitable causes. It’s a match made in heaven.

Rooms: The perfect retreat for visitors and residents alike, what Petite Anse offers is uninterrupted escapism. Each standalone cottage ensures maximum privacy, intriguing vintage furnishing and a show-stopping view of the moon which glistens over the raging waves rolling onto the shore. From the honeymoon suite

connected to the main entrance and restaurant above, a windowless peephole in the shower ensures you never miss a moment with the moon.

Food: One of the perks of staying in the countryside is access to the freshest produce from neighbouring farmers. While the chef rustles up a fusion of Caribbean and European dishes you can enjoy the most photographed beachfront on the North Coast.

Kered Recommends: Take some time out to talk to the owners about how you can contribute to the various charitable and community causes they support. Just five minutes with Annie will put life into perspective and leave you feeling inspired and keen to give back in any way you can.
