Research interests: I am an applied microeconomist specialised in productivity analysis. Most

of my work involves agriculture and rural development in the Western Cape, e.g. sustainable land use, human wildlife conflict, farm labour markets and total factor productivity. I publish with international colleagues, colleagues in other departments at my university and increasingly with both undergraduate and graduate students.
