DRÄGER PSS® DIVE DIVING TECHNOLOGY
DIVING APPARATUS DRÄGER PSS®2 |
During diving missions, you may not only rely on your partner. Dräger PSS Dive – flexible solutions for professional and safe diving.
The requirements on professional divers are diverse and require a high degree of versatility out of all system components. From rescue organizations, fire fighters, coast guards, marine and special units to commercial users – all across the world divers trust in Dräger diving technology.
Dräger has set standards with innovative diving equipment for 100 years. Safe and responsible diving has always been the top priority. Our mission: Provide the highest safety combined with the maxi-mum degree of freedom so divers can concentrate on their tasks.
We have developed an innovative device concept for the variety of tasks divers face in various operating environments. Because no two missions are alike, the PSS Dive is oriented towards individual requirements and allows for customer-specific configurations.
Dräger PSS Dive establishes the proven personal safety system (PSS) even under water. This system approach guarantees an optimum matching of all components so that nearly every task can be mastered safely.
Alongside ease of operation and safety, Dräger PSS Dive offers sophisticated equipment technology that is quickly and easily ready for use with the least amount of maintenance.
DIVING APPARATUS DRÄGER PSS® | 3
MaskSeeing, breathing, communicating – Panorama Nova Dive is the perfect basis of the Dräger PSS Dive system. The Panorama Nova Dive diving mask is the connection between the working environment and the outside world for the diver.
Three patented mask connectors guarantee the highest safety and functionality. The central connector is intended for the primary diving regulator. Two connectors on the sides are intended for the emergency ventilation and the microphone of a communication unit.
VisorIdeal visibility is rarely the case during diving missions – therefore, the best should be made of available visibility. For this reason, the mask has a flat anti-fog visor with an extraordinary panorama field of vision. Thanks to its shape and mask volume buoyancy is reduced. The visor is equipped with
two levers for the nose pads to clear the ears and a quick connector for residual pressure warnings.
Mask bodyCombined with the new five-point head harness, the mask body guarantees excellent leak tightness. It can be removed from the head within seconds thanks to the special quick opener. Any water that may have penetrated the mask can easily be blown out through an integrated blow-off valve.
CommunicationCombined with the UT 402 communication unit, Panorama Nova Dive offers clear, interference-free communication between the diver and the lifeline attendant. The small and lightweight surface unit is carried on the belt, leaving the hands free for other tasks. The communication cable also serves as safety line.

(German Fire Protection Association)
In the optimum position – the buoyancy compensation system The buoyancy compensator is tailored in a wing configuration. Thanks to its three-dimensional cut, it fits closely to body and does not protrude body dimensions, even if completely inflated.
Its maximum buoyancy is 210 N. It can optionally be equipped with a 0.5 l/2,900 psi emergency ascent cylinder. It is approved as combined buoyancy control and rescue equipment. The polyurethane coated buoyancy bladder is divided into two sections. The outer skin is made of 1000 Denier Cordura®. The buoyancy bladder is equipped with three quick relief valves and an inflator hose with integrated medium-pressure hose.
Safe and comfortable breathing under water – the pneumatics The high-performance diving regulator (designed for 2,900 and 4,351 psi) consists of a Shark (1st stage) with bal-anced piston, high-pressure connector (5/8“) and a medium-pressure amplifier.
In combination with a Shark (2nd stage) it can safely, easily, and quickly be connected to the mask. The residual pressure warning of the Dräger PSS Dive, which is connected to the mask, is an important innovation for your safety. With the movable piston, you can see, hear, and even feel the residual pressure warning.
Your knight in shining armor – the personal floating device
Dräger PSS Dive can optionally be equipped with an offshore-tested
personal floating device with a buoyancy of 275 N. A CO2 cartridge with an activation cord is provided.
Flexible ergonomics – the harness The ergonomically designed and padded backplate with comfort straps guarantees a perfect fit thanks to its shoulder, waist,
chest, and crotch straps. The pull-forward system makes it easy for the diver to don the apparatus. The carrying system also includes
weight pockets, which increase safety without restricting comfort. Dräger PSS Dive is suitable
for diving operations with one cylinder or a double cylinder. You can choose from a wide
range of 6, 7, and 10 Liter cylinders with 2,900 and 4,351 psi as mono or duo version
and the respective cylinder bridges. The cylinders are fastened by two straps with
a special quick release buckle.
Premium diving mask – Panorama Nova Dive
The Dräger PSS Dive device configuration is perfectly
complemented by the full-face mask Panorama Nova Dive.
It also offers many innovative features, such as easy breathing
of the ambient air in case the 2nd stage is not inserted. This
results in optimum flexibility and safety.

Dräger PSS Dive – vfdb
PSS Dive is a professional diving apparatus in a device configuration, which enables the diver to easily operate the cylinder valves even during dive missions. It is also possible to connect an individual cylinder or two diving cylinders to the harness with the cylinder valves facing downwards. This results in a good operability of the valves. The cylinder valves are protected against damage by a sturdy guard. In this configuration, design specifications are in accordance with the VfdB1 Directive.

Dräger PSS Dive – EN
PSS Dive is a professional diving apparatus in a device configuration, in which the diving cylinders are installed with the valves facing upwards. This means the apparatus can be positioned safely on the cylinder feet. A single cylinder or two diving cylinders can be installed on the carrying system. In this configuration, design specifications are in accordance with the standard EN 250.
Safe and comfortable breathing under water – the pneumaticsThe high-performance diving regulator (designed for 2,900 and 4,351 psi) consists of a Shark (1st stage) with balanced piston, high-pressure connector (5/8“) and a medium-pressure amplifier.

Dräger products exceed statutory requirements many times over in terms of quality, reliability and safety. Nevertheless, it is and will remain a matter of course for us to test and certify our products to the most stringent standards.
We owe this to our customers who often entrust their lives to our technology. But we also owe this to our own tradition: always making a little bit more progress, always being a little bit better and not just being satisfied with “good”. Maybe one of the reasons why Dräger products are among the best the world can offer nowadays. And we can document this:
Trust is good – verification is better
THE DRÄGER PSS DIVE SYSTEM
has been certified by the body notified by the European Commission under the identification number 0098.
The test was based on the vfdb guideline 0803:2001, DIN EN 250:2000 and DIN EN 1809:1998.
